The '2025 Gyeongnam Resource-Linked Local Startup Activation Support Project' hosted by Gyeongsangnam -do and organized by Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center (CEO Noh Chung-sik) held a kickoff event at the Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center for two days from April 28 to 29 ahead of its full-scale launch.
This event was held for 28 (potential) local startup companies that are challenging startups by utilizing resources from 13 population-decreasing and interest areas in the province. On the 28th, it was held for companies in the southwest (operator: Series Ventures, L2 Plan) and on the 29th, it was held for companies in the northeast (operator: Crypton). About 40 people, including selected companies, operators, and center officials, attended the event to share business operation directions and communicate with each other.
Through the two-day event, ▲the schedule for the composition and operation of the acceleration program ▲an introduction to the Gyeongnam Startup Acceleration Track (GSAT) event ▲major programs for strengthening corporate capabilities, such as LIPS (Local Innovation Platform Studio) and IR Demo Day, were introduced.
In particular, at the Southwest kickoff event, Vice President Hee-Jeong Cho of the More Function Research Institute gave a special lecture on the topic of ‘Business and Life Focused on Another.’ Vice President Cho shared insights on the importance of local entrepreneurship and sustainable entrepreneurship strategies, receiving a great response from the participants.
At the Northeastern event, Yang Kyung-jun, CEO of Crypton, gave a lecture on the topic of ‘Entrepreneurial Small Business Owners as Told by Crypton’, and presented practical management directions to help local startups grow into self-reliant businesses within the region.
Starting in May, the center plans to actively support the growth of local startups through a full-scale accelerating program that will provide startup item verification based on local resources, customized consulting, expert mentoring, and commercialization funding of 15 million to 20 million won per company.
Noh Chung-sik, CEO of the Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center, said, “Through this project, we will provide investment attraction opportunities so that local companies with organic links between regional resources and startups can gradually grow and, in the long term, establish themselves as anchor companies representing the region. We will also work harder to create synergy through cooperation and exchange between companies.”
