Ministry of SMEs and Startups recruits companies to participate in the 'Tech Service Export Voucher' "Support for 400 companies worth 14 billion won"

Government support for small and medium-sized enterprises exporting in the technology services (hereinafter referred to as tech services) sector will be expanded.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) announced on the 29th that it will recruit and support small and medium-sized enterprises to participate in the 'Tech Service Export Voucher' project to expand exports in the tech service sector, including digital and artificial intelligence.

Tech services refer to new services that did not previously exist or services that are significantly more efficient than existing services by utilizing digital or artificial intelligence technologies.

The Tech Service Export Voucher was established in May of last year by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in the 'Support Measures for Globalization of Small and Medium-sized and Venture Companies' to focus on fostering technology exporting SMEs, and this was made more concrete and will be fully supported starting this year.

The main contents of the Tech Service Export Voucher are as follows.

First, we provide specialized support for three basic services in technology fields with high demand and utilization by technology exporting SMEs.

The basic services include ▲cloud utilization ▲data center utilization ▲user interface improvement, etc., and these are areas that could not be supported through the export voucher project in the past.

Second, specialized fields are supported through prior review, reflecting various characteristics of each industry, such as test bed expenses for localization and production costs of virtual reality for export, without being limited to basic services.

Companies that have previously participated in export vouchers were only able to use pre-configured service items, but the tech service sector will now be able to receive broader government support.

Third, companies can also freely select and use service menus necessary for the export process among the 14 menus of the existing export voucher business.

The export voucher is an export support project that strengthens export capabilities by allowing companies to utilize marketing services necessary for exports as much as they need. The 'Tech Service Export Voucher' project also allows companies to receive the same support in the export marketing field.

Lee Soon-bae, director of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ Global Growth Policy Bureau, said, “We expect the tech service sector to become our new export engine,” and added, “We will continue to discover export SMEs with tech service competitiveness and support them to secure an edge in the global market.”

Meanwhile, the Tech Service Export Voucher Project will begin accepting applications from July of this year, starting with the recruitment notice for participating companies on the 30th. Small and medium-sized enterprises wishing to participate in the project can apply on the Export Voucher website .
