Digital gaming company Grampus Co., Ltd. announced that it has signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) for cross-media joint venture with brand licensing and exhibition/performance content specialist Unsung Cloudsonic Co., Ltd.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to jointly pursue new content-based businesses covering both online and offline by combining their core competencies. Grampus has global casual game content that has recorded approximately 50 million downloads and is exploring the possibility of expanding into various media using this. Unsung Cloudsonic has experience in cross-media productization in various fields such as exhibitions, performances, and licensing based on original content from Asia.
Cloudsonic plans to expand the scope of utilization of original content through collaboration with various franchises and F&B brands connected to its own and its partners’ offline platforms. With this agreement, the two companies will jointly plan and operate a project that provides a new cultural content experience based on the digital-physical linkage of content.
Grampus' strategy is to use this collaboration as a foundation for not only its existing web2-based game business, but also to build a next-generation digital content ecosystem based on web3 and blockchain. It is seeking to transform into a media platform operator beyond games by utilizing its own IP (intellectual property rights), and is strengthening the foundation for expanding a global community centered on fandom.
Hyung-Taek Kim, CEO of Unsung Cloudsonic, said, “This collaboration will be an opportunity to build a new cross-media model by combining digital content and offline platforms,” and added, “We will continue various collaborations with Grampus, focusing on expanding fandom culture and integrated content distribution targeting global users.”
A Grampus official said, “Through strategic partnerships, we plan to focus on realizing the media expansion potential of digital game content and providing new user experiences that connect online and offline.”
