Incheon Creative Economy Innovation Center (CEO Lee Han-seop) announced that it is recruiting companies to participate in the '2025 Open Wave Global' global expansion program to support promising domestic startups' entry into the Japanese market until July 13.
'Open Wave Global' is a practical scale-up program for startups aiming to enter the Japanese market. It goes beyond simple overseas exploration and supports meetups with local mass-market companies, verification of market fit (PoC), and discovery of partners and investors.
The recruitment target is startups that have been in business for less than 7 years, targeting digital transformation (DX) technology fields such as SaaS, fintech, and artificial intelligence (AI), or promising consumer goods markets in Japan. A total of 4 companies will be selected nationwide, and there are no regional restrictions.
The selected companies will be provided with various localization support benefits, including ▲meetups with Japanese mass-market companies (2 times in Korea, 4 times in Japan), ▲PoC linkage opportunities, ▲Japanese market entry strategy consulting and in-depth seminars, ▲up to 1 million won in support for business trips to Tokyo, and ▲Japanese translation of company introduction materials.
The program begins in August, and after domestic pre-consultation and meetups, full-scale collaboration discussions will be held in Tokyo, Japan from September to November. At the end of the program, a performance sharing meeting will be held, and excellent companies will also be provided with settlement consulting to support the establishment of Japanese corporations and contract signing.
Applications for participation can be made through the online link (https://wkf.ms/4mH0rOi) and must be submitted along with relevant documents such as a business plan. Additional points will be given to incubation companies in the 19 Creative Economy Innovation Centers nationwide, and will be automatically applied to incubation companies in the Incheon Center.
Lee Han-seop, head of the Incheon Creative Economy Innovation Center, said, “This program is designed with a focus on practical collaboration and commercialization possibilities in the Japanese market, so we look forward to active participation from startups preparing to enter the global market.”
