Red Brick, selected as a national R&D project for export-oriented projects by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups

Redbrick (CEO Yang Young-mo), which provides AI-based game development services, announced that it has once again proven its technological prowess by being selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ 2025 Technology Innovation Development Project (Export-oriented). This selection is the result of highly evaluating the potential of next-generation game production technology using AI, and Redbrick plans to accelerate its advance into the global market by developing a Text-to-Game editor based on LLM (Large-Scale Language Model).

The export-oriented national project of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' technology innovation development project is a company-led R&D project that supports the innovation capacity of SMEs in stages to promote scale-up and encourage entry into the global market. Through this project, Red Brick is implementing a next-generation creative environment where anyone can easily create games based on the AI game development editor, and is suggesting a new turning point in the content creation method.

This project is being promoted with a total budget of 2.46 billion won (1.6 billion won in government subsidies), and its core is AI technology that has the ability to automatically generate games within 5 minutes by simply inputting text in natural language. It is expected to drastically lower the entry barrier to game production and become the foundation for expanding the creator-centered ecosystem.

Red Brick is a global tech startup that operates ▲ an AI-based game development studio called 'Red Brick', ▲ a STEM-based education service called 'Red Brick Class', and ▲ a web-based game platform called 'Bricky'. In particular, it is innovatively increasing game production productivity by utilizing LLM-based AI technology.

This technological prowess is also recognized in the global market, and as of last month, the cumulative number of users exceeded 7.5 million, with more than 70% of them being global users, proving the potential for growth in overseas markets.

With this R&D research underway, Red Brick plans to fully advance into the Middle East (MENA) and Southeast Asian markets and present a new standard for global game content production through AI game development technology.

“The selection for this R&D project is a recognition of both Red Brick’s technological prowess and its potential for expansion into the global market,” said Gwangyong Lee, co-founder and general manager of this project and co-founder of Red Brick. “We will do our best to bring forward an era in which anyone can easily create games using AI technology and to ensure that Korea leads the way in AI-based game development in the global content market.”

This selection for the technology innovation development project is evaluated as a key starting point for Red Brick's strategy to expand its global business centered on exports as well as domestic markets, based on its unique AI game development technology and continuous research and development capabilities.

Redbrick was selected for Hub71, the United Arab Emirates sovereign wealth fund operation program in 2025, established an overseas corporation in Abu Dhabi, and is actively expanding its business in the MENA region. Recently, it was also selected for the Google for Startups Accelerator (AI) in Abu Dhabi, and is showing rapid growth as its artificial intelligence technology is recognized domestically and internationally.
