Africana (CEO Kang Seon-geun), an AI and cloud native platform specialist, participated in the 'K-AI PaaS Summit 2025' held at Yangjae El Tower last week and presented the role of platform services (PaaS) in the AI Agent environment and response measures centered on its 'Serengeti Functions' platform.
This summit was hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Cloud Industry Association, and was attended by policy practitioners from local governments, public institutions, and affiliated organizations across the country, who discussed ways to spread private cloud technology and activate PaaS for implementing digital government.
In a presentation titled “The Role of PaaS in the AI Agent Environment,” Africa CTO Ji-Hyun Ji explained, “AI Agents are user interfaces capable of active judgment and execution, and to support this, an integrated platform encompassing execution environment, tool integration, large-scale computing, model operation, security, and compliance is required.”
The presentation introduced the technical requirements for smooth operation of AI agents in a cloud-native environment, such as ▲API-based orchestration ▲workflow automation ▲model version management and LLMOps ▲security and compliance response, as well as the PaaS integration structure. Through this, a platform strategy was presented that enables AI agents to go beyond the experimental stage and be applied in the field, drawing the attention of the attendees.
At the Africa exhibition booth set up at the event site, a demo of Serengeti Functions, a DevOps platform optimized for MSA (microservice architecture) development, was presented. The live demo introduced agent configuration, document-based knowledge generation (RAG), external API, and various large language model (LLM) linkage cases, attracting the attention of technology professionals.
'Serengeti Functions' is a serverless platform that operates on Kubernetes-based lightweight containers, and supports rapid application design and deployment through YAML pipelines, code templates, and its own deployment engine. It also features AI Code Assistant that can be used in closed network environments and a runtime resource allocation function, providing security and efficiency, and is evaluated as a platform suitable for AI agents and short-term service iteration development.
Africa’s Managing Director Ji-Hyeon Ji said, “This event was a meaningful opportunity to specifically present the technology direction and platform strategy for the AI agent era,” and added, “We are currently in follow-up discussions with multiple organizations.”
