
Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (CEO Won-kyung Kim) announced on the 26th that they held the 'Climate Tech Seminar ON' at the Pangyo Startup Zone on June 25th. This seminar was held with the aim of creating a foundation for collaboration between technology-based startups to respond to the climate crisis.
The event, held under the theme of ‘Global, Private, and Public Collaboration of Climate Tech Startups through Open Innovation’, shared various information on global expansion and public-private cooperation methods. Experts from each field participated as speakers and provided cooperation strategies and networking opportunities based on practical cases.
KOICA Deputy Director Park Ji-min introduced the international development cooperation program 'CTS-TIPS' to solve social problems in developing countries, and presented a way for climate tech startups to simultaneously achieve social value realization and global expansion. UN CTCN Coordinator Kang Soo-il explained how to establish a foundation for overseas cooperation through examples of utilizing global technology networks.
Oh Jeong-seok, a specialist member of the Carbon Neutral, Green Growth Committee, shared the case of the government-led 'Net Zero Challenge X' open innovation support and introduced the program's role in the technology verification and market validation process for each stage of startup growth.
As examples of collaboration between large private companies, SK Innovation PM Kim Hyung-jin presented an ESG-based open innovation strategy and a case of collaboration with startups, LG Science Park Manager Cho Kyung-jin shared his experience in developing market channels through connections between large companies and startups, and SK Ecoplant Professional Lee Jun-ho introduced a case of collaboration in environmental technology verification.
This seminar contributed to the expansion of the collaborative ecosystem through networking and information exchange between climate tech startups and open innovation practitioners.
An official from the Climate Innovation Center said, “Through the seminar, we were able to expand the collaborative ecosystem and achieve international results, such as supporting participation in ‘VivaTech 2025 in France.’ We plan to continue to operate programs to support the global expansion and practical growth of climate tech startups.”
