The 11-member AI virtual idol group 'IITERNITI', created with Pulse Nine 's proprietary technology, Deep Real AI, is receiving a great response as the Busan International Short Film Festival's public relations ambassador and muse.
The Busan International Short Film Festival, now in its 42nd year, is an Oscar® Qualifying Festival officially recognized by the American Academy (Oscar). This year’s official theme is ‘Cinema & Sound’ and the K-POP AI virtual idol ‘Eternity’ has been selected.
Eternity, the Busan International Short Film Festival ambassador, performed a dance challenge with a Colombian dancer at the 2025 Busan International Short Film Festival Eve, and participated in various audience experience events such as the opening ceremony declaration and introduction, and a photo booth three-cut photo booth as an audience experience event.
In particular, for this film festival, ETERNITY was reborn using a 3D conversion method jointly developed by ETRI Busan Joint Research Lab and DM Studio, using a photorealistic video created with generative AI and the 2D-filmed 'WEN MOON' music video. The 'WEN MOON' music video, reborn in 3D, was released through Beyond 3D Cinema and ETRI Busan Joint Research Lab's online streaming site.
The audience who encountered the ambassador Eternity responded enthusiastically, saying, “It’s new to see the AI virtual idol Eternity at the Busan International Short Film Festival,” and “The fun factor of the film festival has increased with the incorporation of new technologies into the films and Eternity.”
Pulse Nine is introducing AI idol 'Eternity' based on its self-developed generative AI engine 'DEEP REAL LIVE'. It was introduced together with K-pop superstars at the V&A global tour exhibition 'Hallyu! The K-wave', which will be held in London, San Francisco, Boston, Zurich, and Canberra until 2026. It will also be exhibited at the Universum science museum in Bremen, Germany, and was invited as a performance artist at the closing ceremony of the AI for Good summit 2024.
They are actively working as a new medium for K-pop, being mentioned on global broadcasting stations such as BBC and CNN. In Korea, they are gaining attention as an 'AI idol who can communicate' through live broadcast appearances and drama appearances, and they are the first AI idol to successfully complete a solo concert. They are currently participating in the 'Brave New World' exhibition at Jeju Halla Digital Art Museum, presenting content that combines K-pop and cutting-edge AI media.
The Busan International Short Film Festival will be held from the 24th to the 29th at the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae-gu and the BNK Busan Bank Art Cinema Corner Theater in Jung-gu. Various new forms of short films produced around the world, a 'Cinema & Sound' side event commemorating the 42nd anniversary, and audience events will be held.
