The Wheat Welfare Foundation announced on the 28th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with Gangnam-gu Office and Esther Formula for a social contribution project to support single-person households in social isolation.
This agreement is a measure to address the problem of social isolation caused by the aging population and the increase in single-person households, and is aimed at providing practical support, especially to isolated households who have difficulty receiving help in times of emotional isolation and crisis.
The signing ceremony took place on the 25th at the Gangnam-gu Office, and was attended by Jeong Hyeong-seok, standing representative of the Milal Welfare Foundation, Jo Seong-myeong, mayor of Gangnam-gu, and Kim Geon-se, CEO of Esther Formula. Through this agreement, the three organizations agreed to jointly promote social contribution activities targeting isolated single-person households.
The main project includes a project to deliver 'health packages' consisting of health functional foods and daily necessities to 152 households in Gangnam-gu. This activity is scheduled to be carried out in June in a volunteer format with the direct participation of Esther Formula employees.
The project's funding comes from a portion of the sales proceeds from health functional foods donated by Esther Formula to the Millet Welfare Foundation's sharing store, Giving Plus. Giving Plus is a social enterprise that creates jobs for the underprivileged and supports marginalized neighbors in the local community with profits generated from the sale of corporate donation items.
According to the agreement, Esther Formula will continue to donate goods and engage in volunteer activities with the participation of employees, while Gangnam-gu Office will be in charge of administrative support and selection of beneficiaries. The Milal Welfare Foundation will be in charge of planning and operating the entire project, and will lead the composition and delivery of health packages and the implementation of volunteer activities. In the future, the three organizations will also explore ways to expand the support areas and targets.
