Google Play, in cooperation with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Institute of Startups and Entrepreneurship Development, announced the 100 participating companies in the 7th Window Program, which supports the growth of domestic mobile app and game startups. The “Window Program” is a combination of the “window” of startup and the “goo” of Google, and is a representative startup fostering program that helps promising startups grow. This program, which began in 2019 and is now in its 7th year, selects companies based on criteria such as the completeness of content, technological innovation, and the potential for global expansion.
In this 7th batch, JamJam Therapeutics, which developed the children's game-type rehabilitation app JamJam400, Detail Games, which presented the global casual game Aliens are Hungry, and Munis, which operates the brainwave-based sleep improvement app Nightly, were selected for the Top 3. Next, the Top 10 included the idle game Trinity Guardians (Sigma Studio), hybrid casual game Shoeville: Supervillain Wanted (Supervillain Labs), aerobic exercise coaching app Lyduck, oral checkup app HomeDen, eating disorder management app Pomelo, female traveler matching platform NomadHull, and financial transaction contract solution MoneyGuard.
The startups selected this year are evaluated to have outstanding cases of developing platforms that precisely solve problems for specific user groups based on AI or that were designed with overseas expansion in mind from the beginning, targeting the global market. For example, the AI voice-based smart toy for infants, 'Carti Time', the K-POP dance learning app 'STREAM', and the learning content extraction app 'Solve' are providing customized solutions using AI technology.
In the gaming industry, casual and idle games that can be immersed in a short period of time have attracted attention. 'Denver Forest: Merge & Cozy' and 'Raccoon's Store' are games that can be enjoyed lightly in everyday life, reflecting the trend. Platforms targeting the global market are also notable, such as 'Toodi', an AI learning management solution targeting the Vietnamese education market, 'Moji', an AI social platform for Generation Z, and 'Six Clash', an online cricket game targeting the Indian market.
Companies participating in the 7th Window Program will receive various growth support benefits, such as seminars on monetization strategies, marketing, and the latest technology information, as well as networking with venture capitalists, cloud credits, and programs for overseas expansion. In particular, companies utilizing AI technology will be provided with education and networking opportunities through the 'Changgu AI Study Jam', as well as priority participation in the 'Google for Startups Accelerator (GFSA): AI First' program. Outstanding companies will also be provided with customized benefits, such as support for global expansion, in-depth consulting, and marketing support.
Google Korea President Kim Kyung-hoon said, “We are happy to be able to work with creative startups every year,” and added, “I hope that the window program will become the foundation for helping developers grow globally.” Information about the companies selected for the 7th window can be found on the K-Startup Startup Support Portal and Google Korea’s official blog.
