Everybot, an artificial intelligence (AI) service robot company, announced on the 23rd that it is jointly developing an AI autonomous service robot with SK .
At the showcase that day, the wellness robot NAMUH X equipped with AI autonomous driving functions was unveiled. NAMUH X is an AI autonomous wellness robot equipped with functions such as mobile air purification, vital sign check, and interactive service.
Everybot is one of the partners jointly developing the product and is in charge of developing the AI autonomous driving part. Everybot signed a business partnership agreement with an SK affiliate in 2024 to begin joint research and development, and signed a development service contract at the end of March this year. In addition, once development is complete, it plans to supply the AI autonomous driving part module, and since it is scheduled to be supplied to a leading large company in the industry, it is expected to contribute significantly to the growth of Everybot's sales.
This joint development was achieved based on Everybot’s AI autonomous robot technology. Everybot is developing various innovative technologies, including autonomous sensing and control, real-time spatial information recognition, next-generation LiDAR sensing technology, and smart vision mapping technology for accurate route optimization.
Using Lidar sensor-based SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) technology, the robot can check its location in real time and create a map. Based on the created map, it applies an autonomous driving algorithm to create a path and provide a function to move to a destination or sensor location specified by the user. In addition, AI-based object recognition technology using Lidar, ToF (Time of Flight), IR (infrared) sensors, and cameras effectively detects and avoids moving obstacles that are not included in the map, enabling safe and efficient movement. This technology enables precise autonomous movement and is utilized in various robotics fields, so it can be seen that there is great potential for future expansion.
According to market research firm Research & Market, the AI autonomous robot market is expected to grow by an average of 16.8% annually until 2030, and Everybot is expected to receive more attention due to such technological innovation and market expansion. This joint development is expected to be an important opportunity for Everybot to strengthen its position in the AI service robot market and lay the foundation for future growth.
