Unidocs Co., Ltd. (CEO Ki-Tae Jeong), an AI electronic document solution specialist, announced on the 26th that it attended the '4th Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) Forum' held at Rikkyo University in Tokyo, Japan on the 14th, where Vice President Jae-Seung Do gave a presentation on the topic of 'A New Path in Korean Language Learning with AI.'
This forum was hosted by the Korean Educational Foundation and sponsored by the Korean Embassy in Japan and the National Institute for International Education. Approximately 150 people, including professors from Japanese public universities, high school teachers, language school officials, and educational technology experts, attended online and offline on the topic of “Korean language learning trends in the diversifying educational field and TOPIK linkage.”
Unidocs, the only technology company invited, shared cases of AI technology being applied to Korean language education through its presentation. In particular, it introduced generative AI technology and automatic content creation cases introduced in the AI-based learning platform 'Hangloe (hangloe.com)' operated by Unidocs, and explained the potential use of AI in the education sector.
'Hangulroy' provides Korean language textbooks from domestic university presses in the form of multimedia PDFs, and is characterized by supporting learners' self-directed learning through interactive e-books that integrate audio embedding and problem-solving functions.
In his presentation, Vice President Doh said, “Zero-shot and few-shot prompting techniques are combined with Chain of Thought (CoT) and AI agent-based methods, and are effectively utilized in the creation of Korean language proficiency test questions and self-diagnosis for the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK).” He continued, “AI can be utilized in assessment design that reflects the learner’s thought flow, and can function as an auxiliary tool to improve the quality of learning.”
Meanwhile, Unidocs is promoting the joint development of multimedia e-book content through collaboration with local Japanese publishers, and announced that it is using this forum as an opportunity to expand exchanges with local educators and researchers and strengthen its foundation for entering the global market.
Vice President Do Jae-seung said, “AI is a means to complement the roles of textbooks and instructors, and it is important to use it in an education-centered rather than technology-centered way,” and added, “In line with this direction, Unidocs plans to continuously develop a digital-based Korean language learning environment and customized evaluation solutions.”
