The Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (hereinafter referred to as the 'Gyeonggi Innovation Center') announced that it is recruiting companies to participate in the 5th 'KB Unicorn Club' until May 6 to discover promising technology-based early-stage startups and support their growth.
'KB Unicorn Club' is a startup growth support program jointly operated by the Gyeonggi Innovation Center and KB Kookmin Bank, and has been providing various follow-up support to startups in new industries since 2021. It is characterized by practical support for startup scale-up, such as investment attraction, acceleration, global market entry, and open innovation programs.
The 5th batch of applicants are prospective entrepreneurs or early-stage startups that have been in business for less than 3 years. Anyone who belongs to a new industry, possesses innovative technology, and has the potential for global expansion can apply.
The final selection scale is around 10 companies, and the selected companies will receive various forms of support until December 2025. The support content includes direct investment review by the Gyeonggi Innovation Center (100-300 million won), recommendation review of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ TIPS program, mentoring by experts in each field, and opportunities to move into an open office space located in Pangyo.
Applications for participation can be made online through the official website of the Gyeonggi Innovation Center, and the final companies will be selected through a selection process including document evaluation, in-depth interviews, and presentation evaluation.
An official from the Gyeonggi Innovation Center said, “KB Unicorn Club is a program that provides practical support for startups at each stage of their growth,” and added, “Graduating companies have shown results in various areas such as increasing sales, attracting investment, and creating jobs, and in this 5th term, we plan to focus on discovering and nurturing promising early-stage companies.”
