Gyeongbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center (CEO Lee Moon-rak) announced on the 24th that it successfully held the '2025 Gyeongbuk Agricultural and Food Startup IR' event to discover promising agricultural and food startups in the Gyeongbuk region and secure investment linkage possibilities.
This event was jointly hosted by the Gyeongbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center), Daegu University Startup Support Group, and the Korea Agricultural and Food Venture Investment Association, and was organized as part of strategic investment linkage activities for high added value in the agricultural and food industries. It was operated with a focus on providing startups with opportunities for practical meetings with investors and providing investors with a venue to discover promising agricultural and food companies.
Before the event began, a three-party MOU signing ceremony was held between the Center, Daegu University Startup Support Group, and the Korea Agricultural and Food Venture Investment Association. This is significant in that it establishes a foundation for continuous and systematic support for startups in the agricultural and food sectors, and solidifies mutual cooperation for future investment linkages and expansion of follow-up support.
After the business agreement signing ceremony, a total of eight promising local startups participated and presented business models in various fields such as sustainable agriculture, functional foods, and smart farm technology. The companies actively introduced their technological prowess, marketability, and growth potential to investors through IR pitching, drawing great attention.
At the event, a free networking session was also held between participating companies, investors, and institutional officials, ending as a meaningful event that opened up various possibilities, such as investment attraction, discussion of cooperative projects, mentoring, and connection with related organizations.
This event was attended by a variety of experts, including venture capitalists (VCs), start-ups (ACs), and agricultural technology-related organizations related to agriculture and food, and there was active, in-depth exchange on the latest trends, investment strategies, and technological trends in the agriculture and food industry.
This '2025 Gyeongbuk Agricultural and Food Startup IR' event is evaluated to have served as an important platform that goes beyond simple company introductions and practically connects promising startups with the investment ecosystem. The center plans to continuously promote IR programs for scale-up and market entry of agricultural and food startups centered around the Gyeongbuk region in the future.
Lee Moon-rak, CEO of Gyeongbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center, said, “Through this IR event, we hope that Gyeongbuk’s agricultural and food startups will connect with investors nationwide and that their innovative technologies and visions will become widely known,” adding, “We will continue to build a more solid startup ecosystem where the public, private, and academic sectors cooperate.”
