Quantum standard technology specialist SDT (CEO Jiwon Yoon) announced on the 24th that it will hold the 'Quantum Computing in Finance Forum' at Boko Seoul Gangnam in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 29th.
This event, hosted by SDT and co-hosted by the Future Quantum Convergence Forum, Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), and the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA), is expected to be an opportunity to assess the impact of quantum technology through examples of quantum computing utilization in the financial industry and to build consensus on the expansion of the quantum finance ecosystem.
At this forum, domestic and international financial industry experts and leading companies and research institutes in the quantum computing field will gather together to discuss the role of quantum computing for financial innovation and its future direction. In particular, domestic and international financial institutions and quantum computing technology experts such as JPMorgan Chase, HSBC, Deloitte, QCentroid, Opetek, Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), and Yonsei University will participate as speakers to look into the present and future of quantum finance.
This forum, which runs from morning to afternoon, will feature presentations on cases and prospects for the application of quantum computing technology in the financial sector, such as ‘Exploring the Potential of Quantum Technology in the Financial Industry’, ‘Certified Randomness using Ion-Trap Quantum Processors’, ‘Quantum Jump in Finance: Discovering Financial Services and Early Opportunities through Innovation and Successful Convergence’, and ‘Connecting Finance and Quantum: Seeking Opportunities for Cooperation’. In addition, practical applications of quantum technology will be explored through sessions such as ‘Creating Real Value through Quantum and Quantum-Based Technologies’ and ‘Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA): Solving Complex Problems in Finance’ for the practical use of quantum computing technology.
SDT expects that this forum will serve as an opportunity to promote the introduction of quantum technology to the domestic financial sector. As it focuses on the innovative changes that quantum computing will bring in key areas such as portfolio optimization, risk management, and fraud detection, it will provide insight into how quantum computing can utilize the financial industry’s abundant data and accelerate complex calculations to support business decision-making.
Yoon Ji-won, CEO of SDT, said, “This forum will go beyond a simple introduction of the technology and will be an important opportunity to explore practical cases of quantum computing already being used in the global financial market and ways to apply it domestically.” He added, “With this forum as an opportunity, SDT will actively serve as a bridge between quantum computing technology and the financial industry, and will do its best to establish a technological foundation so that domestic financial institutions can secure global competitiveness.”
