Joonggonara introduces AI image automatic inspection function to ‘self-inspection’ service

– Secondhand Market, AI function introduced to self-inspection beta service… User convenience and inspection reliability ↑

– Just upload a photo and AI will automatically check the product condition… Average image recognition accuracy of over 90%

– Self-inspection service including expected grade analysis and AI price inquiry function scheduled to be launched within the year

Secondhand transaction platform Joonggonara (CEO Choi In-wook) announced on the 22nd that it has further strengthened user convenience and inspection reliability by introducing an AI-based automatic image inspection function to its 'self-inspection' beta service.

The 'AI Image Auto-Inspection' function is a function that helps check the condition of a product by automatically analyzing the photos uploaded by the seller when registering a self-inspection product. It can be used by entering the keywords 'iPhone' or 'Galaxy' on the product registration screen of the Joonggonara app and clicking the 'Self-Inspection Service' button that appears.

With the introduction of this feature, sellers can quickly check and register the condition of a product by simply taking a photo, without having to fill in all the scratches or damage on the product’s exterior. From the buyer’s perspective, the addition of the AI inspection step to the existing self-inspection items allows them to check more reliable product information.

Joonggonara has applied deep learning-based object recognition and image classification technology to this automatic inspection system. To this end, it directly labeled over 80,000 product image data registered in the smartphone/tablet PC category of the Joonggonara app/web to increase the learning accuracy of the AI model.

According to our own test results, the recognition accuracy of major AI judgment models, including ▲watermark identification ▲image orientation detection ▲damage and damage classification, averaged over 90%.

This year, Junggonara plans to further enhance the precision of AI image analysis technology and sequentially expand the categories to which self-inspection is applied. In addition, it plans to release an official version that adds an AI price confirmation function and an expected grade analysis based on product condition within the year.

Joonggonara CEO Choi In-wook said, “Since the launch of the beta service last December, the fraud rate for products subject to self-inspection has been 0%, and the transaction success rate has increased by approximately 46% compared to products not subject to self-inspection, showing positive results.” He added, “We will continue to expand various technological and institutional foundations to create a trustworthy second-hand transaction environment in the future.”
