LaonSecure announced on the 22nd that it received the Presidential Citation for its contribution to information and communication at the '2025 Science, Technology, and Information and Communication Day Commemoration Ceremony' held on the 21st.
This award is in recognition of LaonSecure's contribution to the development of the domestic security and authentication industry through the establishment of a blockchain-based national mobile ID system and FIDO biometric authentication technology.
Laonsecure has established various national mobile ID issuance systems, including the 'mobile driver's license', the first digital ID with legal effect in Korea, the 'mobile national veterans registration card', the 'mobile overseas national identification card', and the 'mobile civil servant ID card'. Recently, it has been contributing to the establishment of a digital identification infrastructure by applying its blockchain technology to the 'mobile resident registration card' issuance system for all citizens.
In addition, LaonSecure is expanding the application of digital identity authentication technology in various private sectors, such as issuing admission and degree certificates at Chung-Ang University, constructing a digital badge website at Konkuk University, and issuing medical ID cards. Following the opening of the International Student Identity Card (ISIC) issuance system, it is operating a digital ID-based academic administration system in cooperation with Kwangwoon University and others.
It is also actively moving forward in overseas markets. It is promoting global projects such as the Indonesian integrated digital ID design consulting (2023) and integrated digital ID service construction (2024), as well as the Costa Rica public digital wallet development project, and is also discussing cooperation with several countries in Europe, Central and South America, and Southeast Asia.
Laonsecure is releasing its blockchain-based identity and qualification authentication integrated platform, 'OmniOne Digital ID', as open source, and is also working on the global expansion and international standardization of the 'Korean Mobile Identification Card (K-DID)' model.
Meanwhile, LaonSecure is also leading the development of next-generation technologies in the security technology field. After applying quantum-resistant cryptography (PQC) to electronic signature and section encryption solutions 'Key#Biz' and 'Key#Wireless' last year, it is expanding it to its entire security solution. Recently, LaonSecure Consortium was selected as the main organization in the medical field of the '2025 Quantum-resistant Cryptography Pilot Conversion Support Project' of the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA).
In addition, the company is applying deepfake detection functions based on generative AI technology to its mobile security app, 'Laon Mobile Security', and is strengthening its response capabilities in the AI security field by developing deep voice and real-time detection technologies in parallel.
Lee Jeong-ah, Co-CEO of Raonsecure, said, “It is very meaningful that we have been recognized through this award for leading the digital transformation of security and authentication systems through blockchain-based digital ID and biometric authentication technology,” adding, “We will continue to contribute to strengthening the information security industry and national competitiveness based on world-class security technology.”
