Wei Sen to participate in '2025 Vietnam Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Conference'

AI medtech company Waysen announced on the 21st that it participated in the 'Vietnamese Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Conference 2025 (VGEC 2025)' held in Hue, Vietnam from April 18th to 19th and presented the results of joint research with a local hospital.

At this conference, Weixen shared the results of a clinical study utilizing its artificial intelligence (AI) endoscopic solution, ‘WAYMED Endo’. The study was conducted jointly with Hue Central Hospital, the largest medical institution in central Vietnam with which Weixen has a partnership, and the presentation was also made by the medical staff of the Hue Central Hospital Endoscopy Center.

In clinical studies, the results were shared with a focus on how effectively AI endoscopic technology works in real clinical settings. In particular, in terms of the Adenoma Detection Rate (ADR), which is an important indicator in colonoscopy, it was emphasized that the ADR of the group that applied AI was more than 10% higher than the group that did not apply it. Among these, the improvement in the detection rate in flat or sunken lesions, such as non-polypoid polyps, was evaluated as a notable result.

“WayMed Endo is a useful diagnostic aid tool that shows stable and consistent performance even in actual clinical environments,” said Hien Hue, director of the Endoscopy Center at the Central Hospital. “We will continue to apply it to various clinical cases in the future and hope to contribute to the development of AI technology through continued cooperation with Waycen.”

Weixen CEO Kim Kyung-nam said, “This VGEC 2025 was meaningful because it allowed us to share clinical efficacy with local medical staff in Vietnam and introduce the results of our collaboration with Hue Central Hospital.” He added, “We will continue to localize based on clinical data to strengthen our position in the Southeast Asian market, including Vietnam.”
