Krafton'Krafton India Gaming Incubator' 2nd batch of 6 locations selected

Krafton Inc. (CEO Chang-Han Kim) announced the selection of companies for the second batch of 'KRAFTON India Gaming Incubator (KIGI),' an Indian game startup mentoring program, and will continue to foster the Indian game development ecosystem.

KIGI is a program launched by Krafton in October 2023 to promote the game development ecosystem in India and foster globally competitive game companies. Selected startups will receive mentoring from game industry experts for six months to one year, along with up to $150,000 (about 200 million won). Through this, participating companies can implement original game ideas and lay a practical foundation for entering the global market.

In this second period, the number of selected companies has increased by two from the first period, expanding to a total of six. In addition, new game development bases such as Kolkata and Madurai will be newly established to build a nationwide game developer development ecosystem. The partner network will also be expanded to global technology companies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), providing core support such as cloud computing, backend infrastructure, and expert advice.

KIGI received applications from over 350 companies across India, and after a rigorous selection process, a total of six startups were finally selected: Kleanup Games, Advaita Interactive, Singular Scheme, Smash Head Studio, Unwind Games, and Ginger Games.

“Games are more than just entertainment; they are a means to connect people, express oneself, and exert cultural influence,” said Son Hyun-il, CEO of Krafton India. “Through KIGI, Krafton will continue to support Indian developers to lead new trends and expand the boundaries of gaming.”

Meanwhile, four startups that participated in the first KIGI have completed game development in Nagaland, Gurgaon, New Delhi, and Bengaluru and are preparing for full-scale launches. ReDimension Games successfully completed early access for its action-adventure game Sojourn Past, while Shura Games and Dunali Games have started soft launches on the Google Play Store. Arjuna Studios is also gearing up for a new game.
