Smilegate Orange Planet Startup Foundation (hereinafter Orange Planet, Center Director Sangbong Seo ) announced on the 21st that it had selected a final 19 teams in the first half of 2025 regular recruitment.
Orange Planet selected 6 teams for 'Orange Farm' and 13 teams for 'Orange Garden'. Orange Farm and Orange Garden are the names of Orange Planet's step-by-step startup support programs. Orange Farm is for teams that need initial investment and full-scale business advancement, while Orange Garden is for prospective startup teams that need initial support.
About 500 teams from various fields such as real estate, bio, finance, content, data, environment & energy applied for this regular recruitment. Orange Planet selected startups with innovation and growth potential through document evaluation, interviews, and presentations. Smilegate Investment also participated in the selection process and reviewed initial investments.
Orange Planet plans to provide customized support for the selected teams, including education coaching, mentoring, and global expansion, based on the progress and business stage of each team. The Orange Farm selected team will be supported with office space located in Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul for 12 months. They will receive investment of up to 500 million won and venture capital (VC) mentoring for attracting follow-up investment, as well as investment opportunities linked to the Technology Incubation Program (TIPS) led by private investment. The Orange Garden selected team will be supported with office space for 6 months, along with support for establishing profit models and market entry strategies. They will also have opportunities to attract investment.
All selected teams will be provided with various benefits, including mentoring from senior entrepreneurs and networking with family startups. Non-selected teams that wish to participate will be given the opportunity to participate in a five-week online incubation program.
Orange Planet has supported 393 startups over the past 10 years. The cumulative corporate value is 3.7 trillion won.
