Dassault Systèmes Participates in '2025 KEY ESG & Sustainability Forum'

Dassault Systèmes participated as an official sponsor in the '2025 KEY ESG & Sustainability Forum' held at the Emerald Hall on the 3rd floor of the FKI Tower Conference Center in Yeouido, Seoul on the 17th, and presented an ESG strategy based on digital technology and a vision for sustainable energy transition.

This forum, held under the theme of ‘Energy Mix and Sustainable Finance in the Changing Environments of Korea and Europe’, was co-hosted by KEY (Korea Europe & You), the Korea Economic Association, and Korea University’s EU Jean Monnet Center, and co-sponsored by Credit Agricole CIB and Dassault Systèmes Korea. The forum was attended by over 100 key figures from both Korea and the EU, including ESG experts, government officials, energy industry representatives, and financial industry leaders, showing great interest.

At the opening ceremony, welcoming remarks were given by Woon-Sung Jeong, CEO of Dassault Systèmes Korea, Jun Lee (Philip Lee), Chairman of KEY, and Gérald Massenet, Country Manager of Credit Agricole CIB Korea. The closing remarks were given by Young-Sun Park, former Minister of SMEs and Startups, who emphasized the importance of Korea-Europe cooperation and the practical value of ESG strategies based on digital technology.

In the first session, Dassault Systèmes Korea New Business Partner Hyun Kim gave a presentation on the topic of “Technology-centered strategies for responding to ESG regulations.” He emphasized that ESG is moving beyond simple regulatory compliance to an era of voluntary responses led by companies themselves, and that practical improvements using technology are more important than anything else. He then presented the direction of technology application to secure the reliability of ESG data, enhance transparency in the supply chain, and reduce carbon emissions throughout the product life cycle, using the 3D Experience Platform as an example.

In the Roundtable 1 that followed, energy and policy experts from Korea and Europe, including Dassault Systèmes, participated and had an in-depth discussion on the topic of ‘Energy Transition Era: Challenges and Response Strategies.’ Even amidst geopolitical risks and policy uncertainty, specific cases were shared of how private companies are adjusting their carbon neutrality strategies through digital simulation and AI-based technologies.

This forum was a place to confirm the possibility that Korea and Europe can find a feasible cooperation model by combining their respective strengths through technology-centered ESG strategies and sustainable financial structures. In particular, various ideas were presented that can increase the effectiveness of energy transition and ESG implementation by combining Europe’s policy experience with Korea’s technological prowess and industrial base.

Former Minister of SMEs and Startups Park Young-sun, who gave the forum’s closing remarks, said, “Close cooperation between Korea and the EU is necessary for a sustainable future, and I expect this forum to serve as an important opportunity to promote substantive cooperation between the two sides.” She added, “Continued interest in ESG management and energy transition must be accompanied by practical actions.”

“This forum once again confirmed that technology is a powerful driving force in transforming ESG issues into realistic strategies,” said Woon-Sung Jeong, CEO of Dassault Systèmes Korea. “Dassault Systèmes will continue to spare no effort in supporting Korean companies to move toward a sustainable future through digital platforms.”
