DK Tech Launches KakaoTalk-Based 'Smart Village Broadcasting' Service

Transmit and receive village broadcasts via KakaoTalk.. Enhanced accessibility to information with a call function when not received for a certain period of time

Pilot operation with Yangpyeong-gun for approximately 3 months… Actively collecting opinions from residents on site

Plans to connect to the existing village broadcasting system and add multilingual service functions for foreign residents

DK Tech Inc. (CEO Won-joo Lee), a subsidiary of Kakao's IT solutions development company, announced on the 17th that it has officially launched the KakaoTalk-based 'Smart Village Broadcasting' service.

DK Tech's Smart Village Broadcasting is a broadcasting service that allows you to send and receive notices and disaster alerts to nearby residents through a KakaoTalk channel. Broadcasting is possible using only a mobile phone without using equipment installed in specific locations such as a village hall or the village chief's home, allowing for a quick response in disaster situations such as floods and forest fires.

Local residents can listen to the village broadcast via KakaoTalk without installing a separate app. It helps efficient communication between residents with the 'group setting' function that supports group communication by village groups such as women's associations and youth associations, and the 'multimedia' function that allows attachment of photos and videos. In particular, if the content is not checked after a certain period of time after the broadcast notification, the recipient is automatically called to check on their well-being, thereby enhancing users' accessibility to information.

DK Tech conducted a pilot operation of the smart village broadcast with Yangpyeong-gun for about three months before the official launch of the service. They closely examined whether it could be used comfortably by seniors who are not familiar with using digital devices, and focused on improving the functions. Currently, Yangpyeong-gun smart village broadcast can be listened to on the official KakaoTalk channel ' #Ondongne '.

Techin plans to connect to the existing village broadcasting system and add multilingual service functions for foreign residents to enable a faster response to disaster situations.

Oh Kyung-won, head of the DK Tech Connect Business Team, said, “We expect that DK Tech’s smart village broadcast will have high user satisfaction as it was presented through a process of listening to the needs of local residents and making improvements,” adding, “Kakao Talk is a messenger used by everyone in the country, so anyone can easily receive village news, which will help resolve the information gap.”
