The 'Piuda Project', a demand-based SW development competition for the socially disadvantaged, will be held from April 14 to July 31.
The Capital Area ICT Innovation Square is a complex space that supports practical human resource development and employment/startup for SW developers and early-stage entrepreneurs. Every year, it holds a demand-tailored SW development competition to solve social and public issues, discovers excellent developments and ideas, and supports field demonstrations, domestic and overseas verification, and commercialization. Its characteristic feature is that experts participate and support the entire process to create developments that can solve difficulties in the field.
The 2025 Piuda Project focuses on developing customized IT solutions to improve the lives and welfare of people with disabilities, the elderly, and people with borderline intelligence. It is expected to lead to effective and field-oriented changes because it derives development topics that meet actual needs by reflecting the results of demand surveys for each target group.
This year’s Piuda Project Awards will be given by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, the organization in charge of ICT Innovation Square, and will include ▲Grand Prize (1 team, 3 million won), ▲Excellence Prize (2 teams, 2 million won each), ▲Encouragement Prize (3 teams, 1 million won each). In addition, special prizes (3 teams) will be awarded, including the Korea Association of Welfare Centers for the Disabled President’s Prize, the Korea Association of Elderly Welfare in Home Care President’s Prize, and the Borderline Intelligence Lifelong Education Support Center Director’s Prize.
The National IT Industry Promotion Agency said, “This competition will be an opportunity for innovative SW solutions utilizing the 4th Industrial Revolution technology to contribute to solving social problems. We plan to continue our efforts to solve various social problems together with excellent developers in the future.”
