'2025 World IT Show' to be held "17 countries participating, 1,300 booths"

The '2025 World IT Show', hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Yoo Sang-im) and co-organized by nine organizations including the Korea International Trade Association , the Korea ICT Promotion Association , the National IT Industry Promotion Agency , and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, will be held for three days from the 24th to the 26th at COEX in Seoul (Halls A, B, C) under the slogan, "Digital Transformation with AI, Leading the Future with Science and Technology."

The 'World IT Show', which began in 2008, is an AI·ICT exhibition that checks the latest domestic and international AI·ICT trends and industrial trends and prospects in the application technology field every year, and is a B2B event that aims for tangible business results from promising innovative companies in the field to large corporations.

This year’s event will be attended by domestic and international companies from 17 countries. Large and small ICT companies, innovative startups, public institutions and organizations in the information and communication R&D field will participate, and the event will be held with 1,300 booths, filling COEX Halls A, B, and C.

◆ This year's exhibition items

The main exhibition areas are ▲ICT Convergence such as AI and IoT ▲Digital Twin & Metaverse (XR technology) ▲Smart Living and Digital Healthcare ▲Robotics (humanoids, etc.) ▲Intelligent Mobility such as autonomous driving (SDV) and UAM ▲Blockchain and security ▲Quantum information technology, which will showcase the latest technologies and products in accordance with the government's digital innovation (digitalization) strategy.

◆ Features and changes of this year's event – Strengthening the participation space for domestic and international innovative technology companies

This year's event focuses on strengthening on-site business networking between technology demand and supply companies. The 'Mingling Zone', a 1:1 connected business connecting program where approximately 100 promising ICT innovative companies with public-private cooperation and innovative technologies participating in the exhibition, investors and buyers share their exhibition participation purposes in advance and discover business cooperation and investment partners based on mutual needs, will be held in Hall B1. The 'Global ICT Outlook Conference' to be held in Hall C on the first day (the 24th) will share the outlook for major next-generation ICT technologies and the response strategies and market outlook of our ICT companies in the rapidly changing industrial environment under the theme of 'AX Era: Full-scale Implementation of AI'.

In addition, the 'WIS Innovation Award', which selects innovative ICT technologies from among participating SMEs through preliminary screening and awards them with the Minister's Award, and the 'Korea ImpaCT-ech Award', this year's ICT field award ceremony, will be held on-site on Thursday, April 24th. In addition, the (tentative name) Global Innovation Award Winners Showcase, which will share award-winning technologies and products from domestic companies that have won 'Innovation Awards' at global ICT exhibitions such as CES and provide global technology trends, will be held at COEX Hall B on the 25th.

In order to promote business cooperation between domestic and international companies and to create tangible export results in the ICT industry, the 'Global ICT Buyer Invitation Export Consultation' hosted by the 'Korea International Trade Association' will be held on the 24th and 25th at Hall A on the 1st floor of COEX. A total of 45 buyers from 12 countries will participate in this consultation, and through pre-matching, approximately 700 export consultations will be held with approximately 150 domestic companies.

In addition, the 'New Product & New Technology Presentation', where products and technologies of pre-selected promising ICT innovative technology participating companies will be revealed, will be held on the 25th (Friday) in Hall C. This event will be where innovative participating companies will showcase their new products and technologies to executives and employees of large and medium-sized companies in the new technology sourcing and business/technology cooperation sectors invited to the event, as well as investment companies (FI/SI/M&A) participating to discover promising investment companies.

◆ Introduction to concurrently held events

Along with this, the 'ITRC Talent Development Fair 2025' will be held as a concurrent event, hosted by the Information and Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation Institute and the University Information and Communications Research Center Council. 38 universities and 81 university IT research centers across the country will be organized into 10 halls by research topic, such as semiconductors, displays, next-generation artificial intelligence, and big data, and will hold the event for three days in the form of a citizen participation exhibition hall so that the research results can be easily experienced.

The '2025 ICT Technology Commercialization Festival', a venue for technology exchange hosted by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency to support the transfer and commercialization of major ICT research and development results to the private sector, will also be held as a concurrent event. It will be a space where public research institutes, universities, and companies that have received government support can exhibit major technologies and promote business marketing between demanders and suppliers of relevant technologies, such as seeking joint research and collaboration opportunities.

Meanwhile, the '2025 Future Clean Energy Forum' will also be held at the same time to share the results of clean energy research and development in response to the recent global climate crisis. This forum is expected to serve as a venue for communication that promotes cooperation and innovation among experts from industry, academia, and research institutes for the commercialization and expansion of future clean energy technologies.

An official from the '2025 World IT Show' organizing committee emphasized that this year's event is "providing various business opportunities to our IT companies as well, with the emergence of open source-based alternative models for AI investment, which has been mainly focused on M7 companies in the U.S." "This year's 'World IT Show' is a domestic marketplace where you can share cases of cost reduction and productivity enhancement using physical AI, such as robotics and digital twins in various industries, and see various AI-based digital-based business models in one place."
