
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (hereinafter referred to as MSS, Minister Oh Young-joo) and the Ministry of Employment and Labor (hereinafter referred to as MSS, Acting Minister Kim Min-seok) announced on the 15th that they held a 'Strategic Collaboration Council' as a follow-up measure to the strategic personnel exchange.
The two ministries agreed that inter-ministerial collaboration is necessary to resolve the chronic shortage of manpower in small and medium-sized enterprises, and the collaborative tasks are as follows.
At the strategic collaboration council, the two ministries announced detailed implementation plans for the collaborative tasks they will pursue throughout the year and discussed ways to build a cooperative system and create and expand results. After this council, the strategic collaboration council will continue to be held once a month to regularly review and supplement progress on each task for creating results.
Kim Woo-joong, policy planning officer at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, “By establishing and operating an efficient collaboration system between the two ministries based on strategic personnel exchanges, we expect to see synergy in resolving the manpower shortage problem that many small and medium-sized enterprises are currently facing.”
Jeong Gyeong-hun, director general of the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s Labor Market Policy Bureau, said, “Through this collaboration, the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will support companies seeking to hire the talent they need and the vulnerable class of workers to secure a livelihood safety net through rapid re-employment.”
