A robot that cooks hamburger patties is now in full operation at Incheon Airport . Robot kitchen startup Enia ( CEO Hwang Geon-pil ) installed the hamburger patty cooking robot 'Alpha Grill ' at the ' Burger Station ' store in ' Gourmet Bridge ' , a CJ Freshway premium food court located on the 4th floor above ground of Terminal 2 (T2) .
This robot installation is attracting attention as an example of how automated cooking solutions can operate reliably in airport stores that see tens of thousands of people a day .
Restaurants in airports are characterized by a concentration of orders at certain times, so fast service and consistent quality are essential . It is difficult to effectively respond to this with only the existing manpower-centered cooking method. ENIAI is a food service company that provides food and beverage services such as group meals, leisure, and concessions . We worked with CJ Freshway to solve this problem.
'Alpha Grill' automates the process of pressing and grilling patties and moving the cooked patties , shortening the cooking time to an average of about 1 minute . It can cook up to 200 patties per hour , enabling a quick response even during peak times when orders are pouring in . In addition , it is designed to maintain consistent cooking by applying a sophisticated temperature control system .
Hygiene and safety are also designed to meet the high standards of multi-use facilities such as airports . 'Alpha Grill' has obtained certification to meet the American food sanitation standards (NSF/ANSI) and electrical safety (UL) certification .
Parts that come into direct contact with food have passed hazardous substance safety tests , and cooking parts can be easily disassembled and cleaned, making hygiene management easy .
“ With this airport installation , we have proven that our cooking automation solutions can be effectively used in public facilities and high-density retail environments, ” said Hwang Geon-pil, CEO of ENIAI . “ In the future, we plan to expand the supply of cooking robots to various food service establishments, such as sports stadiums , theme parks , and food and beverage spaces on university campuses. ”
