Onsemi Korea appoints Taejong Lee as new CEO

ON Semiconductor (NASDAQ: ON) , a leader in intelligent power and sensing technologies, announced the appointment of Taejong Lee, former CEO of Key Foundry, as the new CEO of ON Semiconductor Korea, located in Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do. Mr. Lee brings over 30 years of expertise in technology development, design services, sales, marketing and manufacturing operations for semiconductor fabs, global IDMs (Integrated Device Manufacturers) and foundries.

CEO Lee Tae-jong said, “Onsemi Korea has the best power semiconductor production line and equipment in Korea. Based on Onsemi’s long-standing experience and know-how, we will lead the growth of Bucheon Fab, our main SiC facility, so that it can continue to lead the global market.”

Prior to joining ON Semiconductor, the new CEO, Taejong Lee, served as CEO and President at KeyFoundry (now SK KeyFoundry, a subsidiary of SK Hynix) and Allchips Corporation. Previously, he served as Vice President and General Manager of the Foundry Business Unit at MagnaChip Semiconductor in Korea, and worked at Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing (now GlobalFoundries) in Singapore and Samsung Semiconductor (now ON Semi). The new CEO, Taejong Lee, was appointed on March 4, 2025.
