Baselabs (CEO Ji-yoon Kim), which operates the offline store operation automation solution 'Gongjipsa', has signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with space planning solution design group jpa. (Junglim Planning Advisory, CEO Kyung-hoon Kim) and agreed to closely cooperate in the fields of unmanned store operation and space user experience design.
The two companies plan to develop a new user experience model from an O4O (Online for Offline) perspective by combining Base Labs’ offline store digital transformation (DX) technology with jpa.’s spatial experience and environmental design. The strategy is to present an innovative service that naturally connects online and offline spaces through this.
The two companies are planning to use 'Slipper Mansion' located in Itaewon, Seoul as a test bed as the first space to apply the O4O function. Slipper Mansion is a space where jpa. has comprehensively planned, designed, built, and managed through a value-add strategy, and plans to build an innovative operation system centered on the user experience by applying Base Labs' smart space management technology.
Since its establishment in June 2023, Base Labs has been providing O4O-based smart space management functions by launching 'Gongjipsa', an offline store operation automation solution. 'Gongjipsa' supports real-time schedule synchronization and duplicate reservation prevention by linking with various reservation platforms such as Naver Reservation and Kakao Talk, and provides key functions required for store management such as automatic message sending, customer management (CRM), and sales analysis with an intuitive UX. Based on this, it attracted 100 stores that introduced it in just 7 months since the service launch, and as of March 2025, Gongjipsa is being used in approximately 310 stores nationwide.
JPA. is a group of creators who provide total space solutions from value-add and space planning from a real estate perspective to design, build, and management that combine space experience and environment by expanding the existing architectural design area. They are demonstrating their own space planning strategies and design capabilities in various areas such as workplaces and R&D, workation, seniors, co-living, and co-working spaces.
“Through this agreement, Base Labs and jpa. will combine smart space management technology and space planning capabilities to soon present leading customer experience innovations in various types of spaces and offline stores,” said Jiyoon Kim, CEO of Base Labs.
JPA. CEO Kim Kyung-hoon said, “The spatial experiences and environments we will encounter in the future will require new total design solutions that combine design and technology, and in response to these demands, changes are needed not only in the spatial business and the process of implementing it, but also in the way we handle space.” He added, “In that sense, this agreement is very significant.”
