Dassault Systèmes announced on the 14th that it has signed a 10-year strategic partnership with the 'Mechanical Elements and Systems Engineering Institute (MSE)' of RWTH Aachen University in Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, to strengthen the capabilities of the next generation of engineers.
This collaboration will integrate Dassault Systèmes’ cloud-based 3DEXPERIENCE Platform into the curriculum of RWTH Aachen University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering and introduce Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) as a core technology. This will allow approximately 13,000 mechanical engineering students to learn advanced virtual twin technology and industrial digital engineering capabilities in a hands-on manner.
The 3DEXPERIENCE platform features physics-based modeling and AI-based simulation in a single collaborative environment, providing full traceability of system parameters throughout product development. Based on this, students perform practical learning applicable to various industries, and are prepared to quickly adapt to the field without separate long-term training before entering the field.
“In order to transition to AI-based digital product development, education in model-based systems engineering is essential, and that is why we have introduced Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform,” said Georg Jacobs, Director of MSE. “This collaboration is the largest-scale partnership among technical universities and will greatly contribute to nurturing engineers who will lead future industrial innovation.”
“A deep understanding of systems engineering is essential to drive industrial innovation,” said Valérie Ferret, Vice President of Educational Experience at Dassault Systèmes. “This collaboration will help close the skills gap in Germany, increase students’ employability, and accelerate the pace of innovation across industries.”
