Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center (CEO Lee Byeong-seon, hereinafter referred to as Jeju Center) is moving to revitalize Jeju marine and fisheries bio industry research and startup support projects.
On the 11th, Jeju Center signed a business agreement with Jeju Marine and Fisheries Bio-Enterprise Association (Chairman Koh Gyeong-min, hereinafter referred to as Marine and Fisheries Association) at J-Space on the 3rd floor of Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center.
Through this agreement, the two organizations promised to cooperate in ▲ marine and fisheries bio-related research and studies ▲ hosting events such as seminars and exhibitions ▲ supporting marine and fisheries bio startups and entrepreneurship. They also expect that by including joint cooperation in various international events, they will be able to lay the foundation for the marine industry ecosystem in the Jeju region to become competitive on a global level.
Jeju Center CEO Lee Byeong-seon said, “Through this agreement, we hope that industries based on marine and fishery bio resources, including Jeju lava seawater, will be revitalized and that added value will be created through startups.”
Meanwhile, Jeju Center was selected as the Jeju regional organization for the Marine and Fisheries Accelerator Program, and has been leading the way in discovering and growing startups in the Jeju marine and fisheries sector since last year. Last month, the Jeju Startup Ecosystem Forum was held with the theme of ‘Salt Industry Using Jeju Lava Seawater’, and knowledge and information on related industries were actively shared.
