The Small Business Hope Foundation (Chairman Ryu Jae-won, hereinafter referred to as the Hope Foundation) and the IBK Happiness Sharing Foundation (Chairman Kim Seong-tae) announced that they are recruiting participating companies for the '10th Small Business Showcase Day (hereinafter referred to as Showcase Day)', which was prepared to support the sustainable growth of small business owners, until the 30th.
'Showcase Day', which started in 2019 and is now in its 10th year, is a representative pitching competition exclusively for small business owners that provides product promotion and investment attraction opportunities to small business owners with excellent and innovative lifestyle products. It has discovered and nurtured approximately 70 promising small business owners so far.
Starting in 2024, it will be operated as part of the 'Hope Sharing Plus Project' jointly promoted by the Hope Foundation and the IBK Happiness Sharing Foundation. In addition to providing corporate promotion and investment linkage opportunities through the 'Showcase Day' pitching competition, it will also provide comprehensive support to strengthen business competitiveness, including digital transformation education, digital marketing packages necessary for expanding online sales channels, and networking with specialized small business investors.
In particular, the final stage of 'Showcase Day' scheduled for September of this year will be held at SETEC in Seoul, the venue of 'K-Lifestyle Week', a lifestyle-based exhibition of the Hope Foundation, and will be linked with the 'Korea E-Commerce Fair', which is expected to attract approximately 30,000 visitors, to maximize the promotional effect for participating companies.
Anyone who is a small business owner with less than 7 years of experience and owns lifestyle products such as food, daily necessities, fashion, and beauty products can apply.
The 20 teams selected through document evaluation among applicants will be granted paid membership of the Hope Foundation and will be given the benefit of using the premium membership program for one year. Afterwards, 10 companies will be selected for the final round through presentation evaluation, and they will be provided with advanced business model education and 1:1 consulting to strengthen pitching capabilities. Three excellent companies will be selected from the final round and provided with a total of 18 million won in commercialization funds, investment linkage opportunities, and space in the 'Jump Up Hub', a specialized incubation space for small business owners.
‘Shine Fresh (CEO Seol Eun-sook),’ which won the grand prize at the previous year’s Showcase Day, demonstrated the potential for growth for small business owners by creating tangible results such as distribution channel entry and sales expansion along with the prize money of 10 million won through this competition.
Ryu Jae-won, chairman of the Hope Foundation, said, “Based on the experience and know-how in supporting small business owners that we have accumulated over the past 10 years, we will actively support the discovery of excellent small business owners and help them grow into entrepreneurial small business owners.” He added, “In the future, the foundation will continue to provide diverse support for the sustainable growth of small business owners and contribute to the creation of a virtuous cycle ecosystem and mutual prosperity across the industry.”
Applications for participation will be accepted until the 30th and can be made online through the Small Business Hope Foundation website . For inquiries regarding applications and projects, contact the Small Business Hope Foundation Fund Cooperation Department (T. 070-4458-2325).
