Global family entertainment company The Pink Fong Company (CEO Kim Min-seok) announced on the 11th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with Ongjin-gun, Incheon (Governor Moon Kyung-bok) to promote and revitalize Baengnyeongdo tourism using the company's content 'SEALOOK'.
This agreement was promoted with the aim of strengthening tourism competitiveness by combining the region's unique ecological resources with content, with Baengnyeong Island, which was selected for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's 'K-Tourism Island Promotion Project' in 2023, as the background. Through this agreement, The Pink Fong Company plans to jointly promote online and offline marketing based on the Sealook IP, development of regional specialized content, and planning of experiential elements for tourists with Ongjin County.
'Sealook' is a 3D observational animation themed on spotted seals, an IP jointly planned and produced by The Pinkfong Company and animation studio Million Bolt in December 2022. It is produced as short-form content, so it is accessible to all age groups regardless of language. The content is currently recording a total of over 2.4 billion cumulative views on YouTube (1.63 billion views), Tencent Video (500 million views), Instagram, Facebook, and X, and is continuing its global spread.
As part of the agreement, the two organizations will work on branding with the theme of spotted seals through the 'Hello! Seal Project'. The project includes the development of key visuals and logos using spotted seal characters, the establishment of tourism photo zones, and the planning of eco-tourism programs. The Pink Fong Company will also produce a collaborative music video in 3D animation format with Ongjin County and release it through Sealook's official YouTube channel.
Goods development will also take place. Limited edition products combining the Sealook character and the nature of Baekryeong Island will be released, and these will be provided as a new experience element for tourists visiting Baekryeong Island as well as Sealook fans.
Moon Kyung-bok, the governor of Ongjin County, said, “I expect that this collaboration, along with the expansion of local tourism infrastructure such as the establishment of the Baekryeong Ecological Tourism Experience Center, will play a positive role in securing tourism demand from various age groups.”
The Pinkfong Company’s Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) Kwon Bit-na said, “This collaboration is a case of connecting character IP with local tourism resources, and is a meaningful starting point for building a sustainable tourism ecosystem.” She added, “Along with Sealook’s global expansion, we will also continue to pursue local marketing strategies.”
