AIDX (Intelligent Digital Transformation) specialist Space Bank (CEO Wonhee Lee) announced that it was invited to the launch ceremony of the 'K-Humanoid Alliance' held at the The Plaza Hotel in Seoul on the 10th as a robot project company. Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the launch ceremony was attended by Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Ahn Deok-geun, Seoul National University President Yoo Hong-rim, and approximately 350 people from industry, academia and research, and they expressed their will to cooperate to create a domestic humanoid industry ecosystem and strengthen technological competitiveness.
The 'K-Humanoid Alliance' is a public-private cooperation platform with around 40 robot manufacturers, AI research institutes, and demand companies, and the government plans to promote public-private investment of more than 1 trillion won by 2030 with the goal of developing a common AI foundation model, commercializing high-spec humanoid robots, and domestically producing key components. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy explained that this is a national-level strategic response to secure the initiative in the global technology competition as we transition from generative AI to the era of physical AI.
Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Ahn Deok-geun said, “The humanoid industry is a promising industry that is expected to grow 25-fold in 10 years, from $1.5 billion this year to $38 billion in 2035, and is directly related to the future competitiveness of our manufacturing industry.” He added, “The government will not spare its full support for cooperation among industry, academia, and research to make Korea the strongest humanoid country.”
Meanwhile, Spacebank, a robot platform company based on Software Defined Robot (SDR), is expanding R&D centered on its own 'RoboViewX' platform. Currently, it is applying the SDR platform to logistics robots, hospital logistics robots, F&B robots, and quadruped robots in cooperation with major research institutes such as KIST and KETI, and plans to actively expand its technology to the humanoid robot field in the future. Through this, it is continuing practical and flexible technological innovation by merging AIDX technology and robot operation platforms.
This alliance will also include Rebellion, DEEPX (semiconductors), SK On, LG Energy Solution, and Samsung SDI (batteries), and will strengthen cooperation in core technologies such as high-performance, low-power AI semiconductors and high-density batteries. The government plans to support technological independence with large-scale investments including AI semiconductor R&D. In addition, it plans to organically promote joint research, data sharing, talent development, and demonstration projects for technological development and industrial ecosystem creation, and seek to improve the overall competitiveness of the domestic robot industry.
“The convergence of AI and robotics is fundamentally changing the paradigm of the entire industry,” said Lee Won-hee, CEO of Spacebank. “Based on the SDR platform ‘RoboViewX,’ we will expand our technological area to the humanoid robot field and grow into a company competitive in the global market.”
Space Bank is implementing real-time integrated control in various fields such as smart cities and human care through its representative solution, 'AIoT Wright', and is further strengthening the platform's expandability and practicality through linkage with mobility IoT.
In addition, it has been recognized for its technological prowess and reliability as an AIDX (Intelligent Digital Transformation) specialist by obtaining the 1st grade in Cloud Security Certification (CSAP) and Software Quality Certification (GS). In particular, it has been selected for the Startup Growth Technology Development Project (TIPS) hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Angel Investment Association, and is accelerating the digital transformation of the public and private sectors through its LLM-based control solution based on its own AI model.
In addition, it was finally selected for the 6th Global Startup Academy hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and is actively strengthening its overseas expansion capabilities and expanding its global network. Recently, it established its first overseas corporation in Indonesia and began to attack the Southeast Asian market in earnest. Based on the rapidly growing local IT service market with a population of approximately 700 million, it plans to localize and promote various DX businesses such as cloud, smart city, and security solutions. The establishment of this corporation is a strategic move to strengthen its position in the Southeast Asian market, and is expected to become a bridgehead for expanding global partnerships and business cooperation in the future.
