Kibo signs business agreement with Gyeongnam Technopark

The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “KIBO”) announced on Tuesday the 8th that it signed a “Technology Transaction Supporters Business Agreement to Expand Technology Transfer Demand and Activate Technology Transaction Market” with Gyeongnam Technopark (hereinafter referred to as “Gyeongnam TP”) at the Gyeongnam TP headquarters in Changwon, Gyeongnam.

This agreement was prepared to foster an open technology innovation ecosystem for small and medium-sized venture companies and to promote the activation of the technology transaction market based on an organic collaboration system between the two organizations.

Meanwhile, Kibo has been continuously expanding the demand for technology transfer from small and medium-sized enterprises by signing supporter business agreements with seven related organizations, including the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, since February of last year, and currently has a total of 185 supporters active.

Through this agreement, the two organizations agreed to cooperate in ▲strengthening demand for technology transfer from small and medium-sized enterprises, ▲promoting the supporter system and encouraging participation, ▲establishing a technology transaction cooperation system, and sharing information on technology transactions and commercialization.

Employees of Gyeongnam TP selected as supporters will recommend to Kibo the technology needs of small and medium-sized enterprises discovered through work contacts, and Kibo will conduct technology mediation for the recommended cases and pay compensation to the supporters if a technology transfer contract is concluded. In addition, Kibo plans to enhance synergy effects by strengthening support for technology transfer and commercialization linkage by utilizing the network of 11 specialized small and medium-sized enterprise support centers operated by Gyeongnam TP.

Lee Sang-chang, CEO of Kibo, said, “In order to continuously expand the technology transaction infrastructure, Kibo plans to expand technology transfer collaboration with TPs nationwide, starting with the agreement with Gyeongnam TP,” and “We will continue to strengthen cooperation with related organizations and supporters and take the lead in fostering a self-sustaining technology transaction market centered on small and medium-sized enterprises.”
