Cohesity Expands Partnership with Google Cloud

Cohesity, a leader in AI-based data security, announced an expanded partnership with Google Cloud to help organizations combat the growing number of sophisticated cyber threats. With the average enterprise losing $540,000 per hour1 due to system outages, this highlights the need for a robust cyber resilience strategy to reduce business downtime.

The new solution announced today is designed to dramatically reduce business risk and disruption to our joint customers from cyber threats by enabling early detection of cyber threats, comprehensive response to incidents, and rapid recovery of critical data in the event of an attack.

In addition to strengthening cyber resilience, it includes new capabilities such as artificial intelligence (AI)-based search and advanced reasoning capabilities, making it easier for customers to gain new insights and value from their critical business data, wherever it is stored.

◆ Advanced data security and cyber resilience solutions

Cohesity and Google Cloud have introduced new data security capabilities to help enterprises protect their businesses from ransomware and other cyberattacks, including:

  • Integrating Google Threat Intelligence into the Cohesity Data Cloud
This new integration will enable customers to quickly detect new threats within their backup data with Google Threat Intelligence, which provides actionable intelligence based on insights from hundreds of global threat experts tracking over 450 threat actors worldwide and over 1,100 incident investigations annually. This update dramatically enhances Cohesity’s existing threat detection and incident response capabilities, helping organizations identify potential threats in their environments early, minimize their impact, and reduce their overall impact.
  • Incident Response Partnership with Mandiant
Cohesity Cyber Event Response Team (CERT) and Google's Mandiant Incident Response teams are now able to provide integrated incident response services for joint customers. Using Cohesity's data, Mandiant can quickly block, investigate, and mitigate attacks on customers' critical infrastructure, while Cohesity protects backup infrastructure and enables reliable recovery. This collaboration will help minimize customer enterprise downtime.
  • Isolated recovery environment based on Google Cloud
Cohesity customers can now build, secure, and validate a Cloud Isolated Recovery Environment (CIRE) on Google Cloud before an incident occurs by working with Mandiant. Cohesity and Mandiant are working together to build a solution that gives customers the confidence to recover their data and business operations, helping to protect customer trust and minimize the impact of cyber incidents.

◆ Integration of Cohesity Data Cloud and Google's Security Operations

This integration will enable joint customers to realize value by leveraging Cohesity’s data protection capabilities alongside Google’s security operations capabilities to strengthen data resilience and improve security posture management.

◆ Maximize insights by eliminating data silos and enhancing AI-based search capabilities

As organizations face exponential growth in data, finding, understanding, and turning it into value becomes increasingly difficult. Cohesity is helping customers address these challenges with two new integrated solutions with Google Cloud.

Integration of Cohesity Data Cloud and Google Agentspace: This integration brings Cohesity’s AI agent, Gaia, to Google Agentspace to quickly analyze data, generate accurate responses to queries, and perform a variety of tasks efficiently and safely.

  • Secure Data APIs enable customers to search enterprise data regardless of where it is stored, increasing search efficiency and reducing costs, management burden, and risk.
  • The integration of Cohesity Gaia and Google AgentSpace will enable customers to leverage advanced inference capabilities provided by Google’s Gemini AI, enabling deeper insights and smarter decision making.
  • Built on Cohesity’s robust data governance and unified enterprise data platform, this integration ensures regulatory compliance, data security, and seamless discovery of trusted data assets.

◆ Integration of Google Gemini and Cohesity Gaia

This integration further enhances Cohesity’s first-to-market AI-based enterprise search assistant, enabling more intelligent data analysis, search, and management through Gemini model capabilities.

“In today’s rapidly evolving threat landscape, organizations need comprehensive solutions that not only protect their data, but help them get value from it,” said Stephen Orban, vice president of Migration, ISV, and Marketplace at Google Cloud. “Working with Cohesity will enable customers to accelerate their digital transformation while strengthening their cyber resilience.”

“Cyber threats like ransomware continue to threaten the businesses of organizations around the world, limiting their ability to deliver new value-driven activities and services. Cohesity is committed to providing our customers with the most comprehensive solutions to enable their businesses to remain resilient, protect their critical data, recover quickly when incidents occur, and simultaneously gain new insights from their data,” said Vikram Kanodia, VP of Technology and Cloud Alliances, Cohesity. “Our close collaboration with Google Cloud further strengthens this commitment, helping customers go beyond simply protecting their data to turning it into a strategic asset.”

Kohesity Korea CEO Lee Sang-hoon said, “Kohesity is working with leaders around the world to strengthen the cyber resilience of companies. With this expanded partnership, Kohesity can help domestic customers utilizing Google Cloud safely protect their data and business from cyber threats and focus on business innovation.”
