The German Chamber of Commerce in Korea (KGCCI, President Marie Antonia von Schönburg) announced that it held the '2025 WIR (Women In koRea) Leadership Forum' on June 26 at the IFC The Forum in Yeouido, Seoul, in collaboration with Macol Consulting Group and The Executive Center (TEC). Approximately 80 female leaders and executives active in various fields such as business, academia, and international organizations attended the forum and discussed the roles and challenges of inclusive and sustainable women's leadership.

The event was attended by key female leaders from Osmium Institute Korea, Henkel Korea, LBBW Seoul Branch, and RWE Renewables Korea, including Cindy Chao-Meckel, Vice President of Siemens Energy, Lee Ji-sook, CEO of Bayer Crop Science, Maeng Ju-seok, CEO of Korea FIIT Volterra, and Marie Antonia von Schonburg, CEO of KGCCI.

The 'Women In KoRea (WIR)' program is a women's leadership platform launched in 2018 by KGCCI, and has contributed to fostering the next generation of female leaders with over 250 mentors and mentees participating to date. KGCCI operates the WIR mentorship with the goal of strengthening leadership capacity, building networks, and expanding social sustainability. Recently, it has expanded the scope of the program by signing a business agreement with Sungjoo Foundation, a subsidiary of Sungjoo Group.

The forum consisted of presentations and discussions centered on topics such as 'Confident Leadership', 'Effective Networking', and 'Organizational Culture Based on Psychological Stability'. Vice President Cindy Chao presented strategies for fostering leadership within the company, TEC Director Carrie Chang presented networking and relationship building methods, and CEO Maeng Ju-seok presented on the importance of feedback and emotional stability.

In the open discussion, speakers and participants shared in-depth discussions on the direction of leadership development, practical implementation strategies, and tasks based on field experience.

Marie Antonia von Schonburg, CEO of KGCCI, said, “KGCCI goes beyond simply helping women grow, and focuses on developing leaders with confidence, empathy, and resilience.” She added, “WIR is a journey to build leadership that goes beyond simple mentorship, and we hope that this journey will become the universal leadership standard of the future.”
