Schneider Electric announced a partnership with One Click LCA, which provides AI-based sustainability platforms and solutions.
Through this partnership, Schneider Electric will publish Type III Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for over 50,000 power products on a one-click LCA platform, enabling architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry professionals to better understand the environmental impacts of their projects when conducting life cycle assessments (LCAs).
Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) components have historically struggled to obtain comprehensive environmental data, which has made carbon assessment of projects a challenge for AEC industry professionals. This partnership between Schneider Electric and One Click LCA addresses this challenge, offering a data-driven approach to reducing the carbon footprint of the MEP sector.
The One Click LCA platform provides a wide range of Environmental Performance Data (EPD) for Schneider Electric’s electrical products, enabling AEC professionals to incorporate the environmental impact of electrification choices into their project life cycle assessments, enabling more effective sustainable design decisions and contributing to reducing carbon emissions in the MEP sector.
“By making EPD data for their products available at scale to the MEP industry, Schneider Electric is providing critical information to contractors and engineers working to make sustainable construction a reality,” said Panu Pasanen, CEO and founder of One Click LCA. “We expect this innovation from Schneider Electric to inspire other companies to share their EPD data more broadly.”
“This partnership will enable AEC industry professionals to make extensive EPD data for power products available on a one-click LCA platform, enabling them to select the most sustainable products. This is a key element in accelerating the decarbonization of the MEP industry,” said Soruch Keradmand, Global Sustainability Partnerships Manager at Schneider Electric. “Schneider Electric will continue to lead the decarbonization of the entire AEC industry through sustainable innovation.”
