Climate tech startup Carbonsaurus announced on the 7th that it has supplied its cloud-based greenhouse gas emissions calculation solution, ‘carbonTrack,’ to 30 business partners of SK C&C. Through this collaboration, the company is also discussing ways to sequentially expand the supply to SK C&C’s major business partners.
This collaboration was formed to support SK C&C’s business partners in independently calculating their own greenhouse gas emissions and implementing ESG (environment, society, and governance) management. SK C&C explained that helping business partners systematically manage their carbon emissions is part of the win-win collaboration, and that it expects this to also contribute to securing its own Scope 3 emissions data in greater detail.
Carbon Saurus noted that through this collaboration, it has secured a large number of customers in a short period of time, and plans to expand collaboration with large corporations that have supply chain data management needs based on this. In particular, as securing supply chain data to respond to global regulations such as CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) is emerging as a major task for companies, it plans to further expand business opportunities that can help realize ESG management.
CarbonSaurus' 'carbonTrack' is a cloud-based solution designed to enable companies to automatically calculate greenhouse gas emissions without complex manual work. This solution is easy to use without separate professional personnel, and can accurately calculate the entire scope of Scope 1, 2, and 3 by automatically collecting data such as electricity and city gas. In addition, it has obtained 'ISO 14064-1' and 'WRI Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard' certification from DNV (Norwegian Register of Shipping), an international standard certification agency, demonstrating reliability and standard compliance.
A Carbon Saurus official said, “Through this supply, we have applied carbonTrack to 30 business partners,” and “We will expand to more business partners in the future to support more companies to systematically manage and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.” He added, “We plan to significantly increase our customer base based on the direction of expanding ESG based on supply chain data.”
