Mobase Electronics, a company specializing in automotive electrical components, announced that its CEO (Vice Chairman) Lee Kwang-yoon visited Saudi Arabia’s Sea Motors and discussed the development of wireless charger transmitters and receivers for electric vehicles.
Previously, Mobase Electronics signed a contract to supply electrical components to Ceer Motors, Saudi Arabia's first electric vehicle company, in three installments from 2023 to 2024.
This visit by CEO Lee Kwang-yoon (Vice Chairman) was arranged to discuss future development plans, as Mobase Electronics was selected as the ‘Electric Vehicle Wireless Charging Solution (Transmitter/Receiver) Development Partner’ of Seamotors. Through the development of the relevant components, the receiver will be applied sequentially to Seamotors’ large and small vehicles, and the transmitter will likely be applied to the construction of new cities and infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. The details of application will be discussed later with Seamotors and the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF).
Mobase Electronics announced that it plans to strengthen its cooperative relationship as a 'running mate' rather than a simple parts supplier by successfully completing this electrical component development, as it has supplied not only core components related to automotive airbag systems to Seamotors, but also core vehicle control modules and multi-function wheel remote control integrated switches.
A representative of Mobase Electronics said, “This development cooperation discussion is significant because it can be applied to Neom City and cities and industrial complexes in Gulf countries, depending on the progress in the future,” and added, “In addition, we are additionally reviewing the development of high-voltage products (7kW-800V onboard chargers) to be applied to premium electric vehicle (BEV) platforms, and we expect that this will broaden our target market.”
He added, “Mobase Electronics has also signed an extended supply contract for Volvo Trucks’ vehicle integrated controllers in addition to the supply contract with Saudi Arabia’s Sea Motors last year, and will continue to secure large-scale orders this year based on this trustworthy relationship, such as securing supply references for global automakers.”
