Future Play Signs MOU with Seoul National University Startup Support Team

FuturePlay announced on the 4th that it will operate a joint acceleration program <BIG Scale-up> in cooperation with Seoul National University's Startup Support Team to support the growth of promising startup teams on campus.

On the morning of the 3rd, at Seoul National University in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, an agreement on joint program operation was signed with the attendance of Futureplay CEO Kwon Oh-hyung, Seoul National University Startup Support Team, and key investment company officials participating in the program operation.

For this program, the Seoul National University Startup Support Team will utilize its accessibility and network to recruit participating teams and take charge of document submission, while Future Play will jointly operate document screening, mentoring, and investment based on its experience in discovery, investment, and nurturing in the deep tech field.

Future Play assigns a dedicated evaluator to the selected startup team and provides 1:1 customized mentoring at least three times. In particular, it provides practical mentoring focused on defining problems and improving solutions rather than general startup education for early startup teams centered on research labs or faculty. This is a support method based on the experience Future Play has accumulated over the past 10 years.

The eight or fewer startups that are finally selected will be able to seek investment opportunities through mid-program and final demo days, and will also be provided with financial and non-financial support, such as linkages to government support projects, in-depth mentoring by in-house experts, and external networking when attracting investment.

This program is primarily targeted at Seoul National University student and faculty startup teams, research lab startup teams, and alumni startup companies with less than 7 years of experience and seeking seed investment. In particular, ▲companies without institutional investment history ▲faculty startups ▲laboratory startup teams will be given preferential selection.

FuturePlay CEO Kwon Oh-hyung said, “It is an honor to be able to discover and work closely with Seoul National University’s excellent startup team from the early stages,” and added, “We will do our best to support the customized nurturing process necessary for the transition from research to business based on the experience and capabilities FuturePlay has accumulated over many years.”
