
The Gyeonggi Content Promotion Agency (hereafter referred to as Gyeongconjin) announced on the 1st that it signed an agreement with 20 professional counseling agencies in the province to resolve the problem of excessive game addiction among youth. The goal of this agreement is to provide professional and systematic counseling and healing support for the problem of excessive game addiction among youth.
Gyeongkonjin has strengthened accessibility by cooperating with 20 counseling centers, which is 5 more than last year, so that youth in Gyeonggi Province can receive counseling more smoothly. Through this, Gyeongkonjin plans to expand professional counseling services to solve the problem of excessive game addiction throughout the province and provide practical support to youth and their guardians.
Counseling institutions participating as cooperative organizations will provide comprehensive psychological tests and up to 10 sessions of psychological counseling to youth and their guardians who are suffering from excessive game addiction, and the counseling costs will be supported by Gyeonggi Game Culture Center. In addition, Gyeonggi Game Culture Center plans to operate various professional education programs such as game literacy education, youth counseling manual, and guardian counseling manual to improve the quality of counseling.
Game addiction counseling applications can be made through the reservation application page on the Gyeonggi Content Promotion Agency website . After application, the applicant will be connected to a partner organization near his/her residence for counseling. Through counseling, a comprehensive psychological test and up to 10 sessions of psychological counseling can be received.
Gyeonggi Content Agency Director Tak Yong-seok said, “We will continue to provide generous support so that the 20 game addiction counseling and treatment program partner organizations in Gyeonggi Province can operate the counseling program without any blind spots,” and “Through this agreement, we will establish a foundation for establishing a healthy game usage culture and strengthening the psychological support system for youth, and we will continuously improve the effectiveness of counseling services.”
