MetaDX, a pet care innovation startup, announced on the 3rd that it has attracted a sole investment of 500 million won from KAIST Youth Venture Investment Holdings Co., Ltd. (hereafter KAIST Venture Investment). This investment will be used to commercialize the veterinary care assistance automation solution that MetaDX is developing and to expand facilities and equipment for entry into overseas markets.
MetaDX is a technology-oriented startup that has been leading the way in companion animal biometric-based diagnostic assistance technology since its inception. It was founded in 2024 by CEO Jinwook Kim, who graduated from Seoul National University’s College of Veterinary Medicine with a master’s degree. The company plans to launch ‘CancerVet,’ an AI-based solution that maximizes the convenience of veterinarians’ treatment, for the first time in Korea in the second half of the year.
Kim Jin-wook, CEO of MetaDX, said, “This investment from KAIST Venture Investment is an important opportunity to recognize MetaDX’s technological prowess and marketability,” and added, “We will rapidly expand into overseas markets as well as the domestic market based on innovative solutions that will change the paradigm of the medical environment.”
“Based on its long-term independent research capabilities, MetaDX has established a technology that can detect malignancy in tumors at an early stage using biomarkers discovered through its own research capabilities,” said Junhyun Ahn, director of KAIST Venture Investment. “Through this technology, we can provide hope to over 12 million pet owners in Korea, and starting with this, we will establish ourselves as a global leader in the pet medical assistance solution sector.”
