Pikachu, 'Earth Day' event concludes

Peekaboo , a developmental play brand of early childhood education tech startup All-Dinner Magic (CEO Heo Cheong-ah), announced that it successfully concluded the 'Peekaboo Earth Day' event to spread sustainable play culture.

At the event held on March 28th at Cafe Moss in Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, 100 households raising infants and toddlers aged 0 to 24 months participated and had the opportunity to directly experience sustainable play culture and eco-friendly consumption.

Toys that are suitable for the developmental stages of infants and toddlers are essential for the growth process, but they are often discarded or disposed of after a short period of use. Picabi took note of this and organized this event to encourage a sustainable virtuous cycle of toys and to spread an eco-friendly daily culture with children.

This event featured a variety of programs, including the ▲Picabi Toy Rescue Project, which sold out-of-date Picabi products and discontinued old toys at low prices, and the ▲Eco-Friendly Family Daily Life Experience Zone, where eco-friendly play and daily life tips that can be practiced with children were shared. The event space was designed with family-friendly displays, such as the eco-friendly daily life experience zone tailored to children’s eye level, which garnered even greater responses from participants. One participant who visited the event said, “It was a more meaningful experience because I could enjoy the eco-friendly consumption experience naturally as play with my child.”

In particular, the 'Pikachu Toy Rescue Project' corner received a great response because it allowed customers to purchase old toys that were discontinued and difficult to purchase at a low price while experiencing an activity to protect the environment. Prior to the event, All-Dinner Magic conducted a pre-collection of products that had passed their usage period for Pikachu customers in March, and provided customers who returned the products with an Earth Day pre-application ticket and a coupon that could be used like cash on the day of the event. More than 80 applications were received for the project, and the collected toys were newly introduced at the event site as about 10 types of pre-renewal toys and second-hand toys.

Picabi announced that the combined sales of old and reprocessed toys at this event resulted in a virtuous cycle of toys worth approximately 300,000 won. All proceeds from this event will be donated to a children’s rights NGO that is helping children affected by the recent wildfires in Gyeongsang Province.

Picavi is taking the lead in protecting the environment by utilizing sustainable, eco-friendly materials throughout the entire product development process, while also striving to improve product quality and ensure safety. To this end, it is actively introducing sustainable materials such as FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified wood and GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified fabric, and is also minimizing the use of plastic in its products to contribute to the virtuous cycle of resources. In addition, it is strictly verifying the safety of its products through its own quality certification system, and based on this, it has secured domestic and international safety certifications such as CE (European Standards) and KC (Korea Standards).

All-Dinner Magic CEO Heo Cheong-ah said, “We planned and prepared this event so that you can enjoy Pikachu’s eco-friendly brand philosophy through a sustainable consumption experience,” and added, “We will continue to introduce play-based eco-friendly content and products and strive to grow into a brand that thinks of both the environment and children.”

Meanwhile, All-Dinner Magic has achieved steady growth since officially launching 'Pikabbi', a play service brand tailored to infant and toddler development, in April 2022. It has increased brand awareness based on differentiated customer-tailored strategies such as a play kit subscription service tailored to developmental age and developmental content based on the brand's exclusive 'Pikabbi App'. With the continuous growth of the Pikabbi brand, All-Dinner Magic succeeded in reaching the break-even point at the end of 2023, and achieved sales performance of more than 60% in the second half of last year compared to the first half.
