
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) announced that the 'Challenge! K-Startup 2025' 'Innovation and Startup (General) League' will begin in earnest, and that it will recruit participating teams for the league from April 1 to 29.
The league will recruit (potential) entrepreneurs centered around the 16 National Creative Economy Innovation Centers, and after selecting a total of 80 teams through preliminary leagues at each center, the final 40 teams that will advance to the integrated finals will be selected through comprehensive preliminary rounds hosted by the 'Seoul Creative Economy Innovation Center'.
In addition, the Creative Economy Innovation Center plans to provide follow-up support, such as business model (BM) advancement, investment explanation (IR), and open innovation linkage for teams that advance to the comprehensive preliminary and integrated final rounds, to help participants (teams) achieve excellent results in the integrated final round and King of Kings competition.
The 'Innovation and Startup (General) League' is a preliminary league hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Its purpose is to discover and reward promising (potential) entrepreneurs with excellent startup items and to spread the startup atmosphere. Any (potential) entrepreneur with an excellent startup item can participate in the 'Innovation and Startup (General) League'.
The winning teams of the 'King of Kings' competition through 'Challenge! K-Startup 2025' will receive additional points when applying for various government support programs such as the preliminary startup package and early-stage startup package, and can even attract investment funds through linkages with private investors.
(Prospective) entrepreneurs who wish to participate in the 'Challenge! K-Startup 2025' Innovation Startup General League can apply online at the K-Startup website .
Meanwhile, the 'Innovation and Startup Club League' will hold preliminary rounds at 11 startup-centered universities across the country to select teams that will advance to the final round, and recruit separately in May. In addition, startup leagues of 10 central government agencies, including the Ministry of Education, are also scheduled to be fully launched.
