AI robot solution company XYG Co., Ltd. announced that it has signed a business agreement (MOU) with robot specialist company ROBOTIS for the development of physical AI-based retail service robots.
Physical AI is a technology that allows artificial intelligence to learn and adapt by directly interacting with the physical world, enabling robots to understand and apply physical laws such as gravity, friction, and inertia to perform tasks autonomously in real environments.
At the recent GTC 2025, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang explained that AI technology is evolving from generative AI to agent AI that can understand and reason in complex contexts, and predicted that physical AI technology will create a new market worth trillions of dollars.
Under this agreement, Robotis will be responsible for developing leader-follower support for imitation learning using hardware technology optimized for physical AI, manipulator modeling for simulation, and motor control systems. Based on the precise motor control technology and powerful actuator solutions accumulated through long-term research, it will support physical AI technologies to operate smoothly in real environments.
XWIG will be responsible for developing digital twin technology in the service robot space, collecting robot movement data for each task in virtual and real environments, and designing and learning AI models (imitation learning, reinforcement learning, VLA model fine-tuning). In particular, it plans to maximize the robot’s advanced learning and task performance capabilities through the combination of physical AI hardware and software.
XWIG plans to improve the management efficiency of robots by applying physical AI technology and leader-follower models to the digital twin environment. In particular, it will monitor and control the robot’s work in real time through remote teaching using digital twin technology, enabling a quick response in case of an error.
An XYG official said, “Through this collaboration, we will further develop our physical AI-based retail service robot solution and create opportunities for its use in various industries,” adding, “Through our collaboration with Robotis, we plan to activate robot technology in education, research, and across industries.”
A Robotis official said, “Through our collaboration with XYG, we hope that our robotics technology will be utilized more widely in various service fields based on physical AI,” and “We will contribute to the industry and education fields with our innovative robotics technology.”
Through this collaboration, the two companies will focus on accelerating the development of robotics technology based on physical AI technology and expanding AI-based services and education solutions. In the future, they plan to develop specific solutions and conduct verification projects to explore the possibility of their use in various industries.
