Kanevi Mobility (CEO Jong-taek Jeong) announced on the 31st that it supplied the industrial wireless terminal 'KM-1000', which combines short-range wireless communication network (IEEE 802.11ax) and Private 5G (P-5G) communication, to Hyundai Motor Company.
The 'KM-1000' is equipped with the latest 2nd generation 5G modem chip (5G Modem SoC). The network redundancy design is reflected so that the main communication is P-5G, but when a problem occurs, it automatically switches to a short-range wireless communication network. It has secured 5G-level communication speed, data processing capacity, stable connectivity, and low latency beyond the short-range wireless communication network used for existing factory communication. In addition, it is equipped with a high-precision GPS, so that the location of the robot can be identified even outdoors, and it is even possible to provide an option.
To date, Kanavi Mobility has supplied 'KM-1000' wireless communication equipment to Hyundai Motor Company's new production line in Savannah, Georgia, as well as the assembly line at Ulsan Plant 3 and the construction of a new EV plant. It plans to continue to provide local technical support to ensure that wireless devices installed in various wireless mobile devices such as robots (AGV, AMR) and inspection equipment operate stably.
In addition, we have recently received orders for industrial wireless terminals that combine next-generation short-range wireless communication networks (IEEE 802.11be), Private 5G (P-5G), and V2X communications, and are currently collaborating.
A Kanevi Mobility official said, “This is a case where Kanevi Mobility’s advanced communication terminal technology has been applied to the construction of Hyundai Motor Company’s new production line,” and added, “We will cooperate as much as possible to strengthen manufacturing competitiveness through the construction of a smart manufacturing solution by applying this 5G specialized network technology.”
Meanwhile, Kanavi Mobility has developed and supplied 'SNP-S1M', which was designated as a standard product for short-range wireless communication network terminals in 2022, to Hyundai Motor Group Singapore Global Innovation Center (HMGICS). It was applied to the center's logistics robot (AGV, AMR) inspection equipment, and wireless communication devices were also developed and supplied to HTWO's Guangzhou hydrogen fuel cell system production plant.
