The Seoul Economic Promotion Agency (SBA, CEO Kim Hyun-woo), a small business support organization that creates competitiveness in Seoul’s cultural content industry, will be promoting an ‘Investment Networking Day’ program in April to attract investment and support growth for content companies together with accelerators (ACs) and venture capitals (VCs) affiliated with the Seoul Content Investment Council.
The Seoul Economic Promotion Agency's Creative Headquarters has formed the 'Seoul Content Investment Council' with 36 venture capitals (VCs) and accelerators (ACs) that have been conducting content-related investment and support projects since 2022, and has been promoting various projects to support the growth of Seoul content companies.
The 'Investment Networking Day' program consists of sessions that can resolve information asymmetry between content companies and investment institutions and produce real investment linkage results. The first session will be held on April 3rd with the participation of 6 AC companies and 9 VC companies through reverse pitching (in which investment institutions present investment strategies and directions to investee institutions in reverse, rather than the traditional pitching method of companies).
The 2nd and 3rd rounds will be held on April 15th and 22nd as customized 1:1 investment consulting for each stage of the business. ▲The 2nd round will be an accelerator consulting for content businesses in the early stages of their business, with 6 AC companies participating. ▲The 3rd round will be a consulting session for venture capital reviewers for businesses in the early stages of their business, with 17 VC companies participating.
We are currently recruiting content companies to participate in the 'Investment Networking Day'. Anyone who is a small to medium-sized content company located in Seoul and wishes to attract investment and is a content-related service company such as animation, webtoon, or movie can participate.
The application deadline is ▲Wednesday, April 2nd for reverse pitching, ▲April 8th for the 2nd investment consulting, and ▲April 15th for the 3rd investment consulting. More detailed information about the program and application method can be found on the Seoul Economic Promotion Agency website.
SBA Creative Industry Headquarters Director Jeon Dae-hyun said, “This networking event will be an important opportunity for content companies to develop business models that fit the investment market,” and added, “We will actively support content companies so that they can grow through various businesses such as not only attracting investment but also marketing support.”
