Gyeonggi-do X Gyeongconjin, recruiting participating companies for '2025 Virtual Convergence Service Demonstration Support'

Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Content Promotion Agency are recruiting participating companies for the '2025 Virtual Convergence Service Demonstration Support' until April 22.

The '2025 Virtual Convergence Service Demonstration Support' project is a project that supports participating companies to introduce virtual/augmented reality technology to distribution and other industrial fields. It supports participating companies to secure demand from large companies in advance and produce metaverse, virtual/augmented reality, and AI services/contents. It is carried out at the Gyeonggi Metaverse Support Center, which is operated with the support of the Ministry of Science and ICT, Gyeonggi Province, the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, and the Gyeonggi Content Promotion Agency.

For this project, Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Content Promotion Agency signed a demand business agreement (MOU) with Kakao Mobility, Hanwha Hotels & Resorts, Hyundai Department Store, and HD Hyundai Site Solutions on the 20th. The companies will provide support for the provision of technology demand for recruiting support companies and the foundation for field verification.

This project, which will invest a total of 440 million won, will recruit in two areas: ‘demand-based verification support’ and ‘advanced support.’ The companies that are finally selected will be able to receive up to 100 million won in production and verification support, and additional support such as marketing and consulting.

The 'Demand-based Demonstration Support' field will select a total of four demonstration business support companies based on a demand survey that organizes the technological needs of the demanders. The selected topics are ▲Virtual convergence immersive safety education content for children/youth (Kakao Mobility) ▲Establishment of a virtual maintenance communication platform based on augmented reality glasses (AR Glasses) (HD Hyundai Site Solution) ▲Virtual convergence space content for resort family customers (Hanwha Hotels & Resorts) ▲Interactive realistic content utilizing the 'Heundy' character intellectual property (IP) (Hyundai Department Store).

The 'Advanced Support' field is intended to once again support the basic support project of the Gyeonggi Metaverse Support Center production support project, and plans to select one team of the basic support company-demanding party (medium-sized and large companies) consortium.

Gyeonggi Province Digital Innovation Division Manager Bae Young-sang said, “This demonstration support project goes beyond technology-centered support and focuses on supporting companies to commercialize their products through demand-based demonstrations.”

Applicants are local startups and small and medium-sized enterprises in the fields of metaverse, virtual reality, and AI. In the case of companies outside of Gyeonggi-do, they must relocate their business to Gyeonggi-do or establish a branch within two weeks of the final agreement. However, 'Advanced Support' is only available to companies with headquarters in Gyeonggi-do, and in the case of companies outside of Gyeonggi-do, they must relocate their business to Gyeonggi-do within two weeks of the final agreement.
The evaluation will be conducted in the form of a first round of document screening followed by a second round of presentation screening, and will focus on evaluating ▲business viability (commercialization and market potential), ▲performance ability (content planning ability and business capability), ▲technology (technology completeness and feasibility), and ▲differentiation (advanced content).

Applications for support can be submitted via e-mail (metacenter@gcon.or.kr) until 2:00 PM on April 22nd. For more information, please refer to the Gyeonggi Content Promotion Agency business announcement or contact the Gyeonggi Content Promotion Agency Future Content Team (031-8064-1779).
