
The Digital Asset Policy Forum (Chairman Jong-in Lim) announced that it will hold a discussion on the topic of “Digital Asset Hegemony Competition and South Korea’s Strategy: Trump Administration Policies and the Future of Technological Innovation” at the 7th Conference Room of the National Assembly Members’ Hall at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. This discussion is co-hosted by the Digital Asset Policy Forum and the office of Assemblyman Min Byeong-deok (Anyang-si, Dongan-gu Gap, Democratic Party of Korea).
This event was organized to forecast the impact of the US Trump administration’s digital asset policy on the global market and discuss Korea’s strategic response measures. The discussion will consist of keynote speeches and in-depth discussions by academic and industry experts in the digital asset field. The event will begin with opening remarks by Rep. Min Byeong-deok and Lim Jong-in, head of the Digital Asset Policy Forum, and congratulatory remarks by key guests.
The first presentation will be given by Professor Kim Sang-bae of the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy at Seoul National University on the topic of “The Trump Administration, Global Hegemony Competition, and Digital Assets.” Next, Professor Lee Jong-seop of Seoul National University will present on the topic of “The War of Digital Iron – Focusing on the Stablecoin Market,” and Professor Ryu Kyung-eun of the Law School at Korea University will present on “Trends in U.S. Digital Assets and Response Strategies.”
After the presentation, a comprehensive discussion will be held with Im Jong-in as the moderator. Financial Services Commission Virtual Asset Division Director Kim Seong-jin, Digital Asset Exchange Joint Council (DAXA) Executive Vice Chairman Kim Jae-jin, Seoul National University Department of Economics Professor Choi Jae-won, Dongguk University Graduate School of International Information Security Professor Hwang Seok-jin, and Barun Law Firm Attorney Han Seo-hee will participate to discuss in-depth the global hegemony competition in the digital asset industry and the direction of development in the Republic of Korea.
Lim Jong-in, head of the Digital Asset Policy Forum, said, “This discussion is a meaningful opportunity to explore the digital asset industry’s response measures in the era of global hegemony competition and South Korea’s strategy for future innovation,” adding, “It will be an opportunity to analyze the impact of the Trump administration’s policy changes on the domestic market from various angles and discuss strategic response measures.”
