
Konkuk University's Campus Town Business Group is recruiting participants for the '2025 KU Startup Idea Contest' to discover promising startups until April 4.
This competition is for prospective entrepreneurs and companies established within the past 7 years with innovative ideas in the BIO (Health, Pet, Food), ICT, and Green fields, and a total of 35 teams will be selected through document and presentation evaluations. The selected teams will be given a total of 5 million won in prize money, 10 million won in startup support funds, and the opportunity to move into Konkuk University Campus Town and participate in startup support programs.
The recruitment target is Seoul citizens, Seoul-based office workers, college (graduate) students, and students on leave of absence, and the representative is an individual or team under 39 years of age. Applicants can apply if they are a prospective entrepreneur or a business that has been in business for less than 7 years (as of April 1) based on the business registration date. Last year, companies that moved into the Konkuk University Campus Town Business Group achieved 33.8% sales growth compared to the previous year by achieving 5.7 billion won worth of government-supported projects (32 cases in total) and 3 billion won in sales based on the business group's systematic support. In addition, they attracted 1 billion won in investment, proving the actual commercialization results.
Jeong Hye-jeong, head of the Campus Town Business Group at Konkuk University, said, “This competition will go beyond a simple idea contest and become a growth platform that leads to actual startups.” She added, “Based on Konkuk University’s startup infrastructure, we will spare no support so that promising startups can experience a stage of challenge and growth.”
The selected companies will be provided with various startup incubation programs, including ▲comfortable space to move into (independent/shared office), ▲professional startup mentoring, ▲market verification and scale-up program, ▲IR camp and other investment attraction programs, and ▲PoC-style collaboration program between large companies and startups (open innovation).
In relation to this project, Konkuk University Campus Town Business Group will hold an information session on the 2025 KU Startup Idea Contest at Konkuk University’s Creativity Center on the 31st.
